On the way to the palace, Li Hong Yuan already learned exactly which consort in the palace had good news. It was none other than Xian Consort Wei, Former Wei’s Princess Yi Ning.
According to the time, it wasn’t getting pregnant the first time she got schemed against, but rather a certain time afterwards, these two rolled together again. Xian Consort Wei wanting to scheme for a child to stabilize her position, this was very normal, but for Le Cheng Emperor, who originally at an inappropriate time, slept with an inappropriate person, losing his face, he should be feeling very unhappy inside, so under normal circumstances, won’t sleep with again a second time. Yet, Le Cheng Emperor just so happened to sleep with again. No one believed it was still a ‘coincidence’. Having a second time, there will inevitably be a third and fourth time. Exactly how many times, probably only certain people of Respectable Affairs Office[1], as well as certain people in the imperial harem that pay extremely close attention knew.
For Li Hong Yuan, never mind another one of Le Cheng Emperor’s consort becoming pregnant now, even if there were another ten or a hundred, he all wouldn’t care. Just, it just so happened to be Xian Consort Wei, and it just so happened to be when Le Cheng Emperor was deeply long for the Imperial Noble Consort. If Wan Wan were to know, afraid she’ll be angry again.
How many men say with their mouth how deep their feelings were, yet it won’t get in the way of them looking for other women to seek pleasure. Le Cheng Emperor was probably just the prime example among them. At the time, perhaps he would feel humiliated and angry, but afterwards, it wasn’t anything at all.
Xian Consort Wei was just a beauty to begin with, and moreover, even noble and esteemed, raised delicate and tender. Additionally, the first time she was intimate with Le Cheng Emperor, she was already that licentious. Even if previously that membrane in her body was still there, she certainly must have experienced certain pleasures before, even possibly having been specifically trained before. As for who was able to do this kind of thing to a di princess like her, based on the Former Wei first prince’s certain words previously, one can guess a thing or two.
That’s why, towards Xian Consort Wei, this kind of woman, unless a man with a firm resolution, or one that doesn’t covet pleasure, and not lustful, the rest, after tasting once, it was very difficult to not touch a second time. As such, as long as Xian Consort Wei has the intention, not counting on any imperial favor, merely just wanting to have a bout of pleasure, it really won’t be too difficult. After all, her status was high enough.
When Li Hong Yuan entered the palace, Le Cheng Emperor was still at Yihe Palace. As such, there wasn’t anything to avoid out of taboo.
When Le Cheng Emperor learned that Li Hong Yuan was requesting an audience, he was very surprised. Moreover, he even strangely felt a bit guilty inside. As such, that originally joyous feeling all couldn’t help but dilute a little, hurriedly letting someone call him in.
Li Hong Yuan was the first man that Xian Consort Wei genuinely fell for. Although it was probably because of his outstanding to the point of perfection outer appearance, her heart being moved was still nevertheless true. She was already prepared to lower herself as a side consort, yet in the end, she wasn’t even able to fulfill her desire, especially when the other party never once gave her a proper look. Because of love, birthing hate, it couldn’t be more normal.
Under this kind of circumstance, for him to suddenly stand before her, and also his first time setting foot in her palace, she subconsciously had her hand placed over her abdomen, suddenly producing a kind of panic like as if she’d betrayed her true love, worrying that he would misunderstand, worrying that………….However, all these complicated feelings just disappeared without a trace the moment she saw Li Hong Yuan. That man still didn’t have her shadow in his eyes. How she was, and whether or not she was pregnant with someone else’s child, all had nothing to do with him.
The satisfaction from accomplishing her goal was gone, only leaving behind immense hatred. Her hand on her abdomen unconsciously tightened, faint pain also coming from her abdomen, yet Xian Consort Wei in this very moment completely didn’t feel it.
“Old six coming to look for this emperor at this time, what is the matter?” Le Cheng Emperor put on the airs of ruler and father, covering up the abnormality inside.
“This son first congratulate imperial father. Perhaps in a few months, this son will have another younger brother.”
Although somewhat embarrassed inside, he was still mostly happy. An imperial consort getting pregnant, wasn’t that precisely the greatest recognition towards his imperial body? He was old but vigorous, so he can sit on the throne for a very long time.
However, this good mood of Le Cheng Emperor’s didn’t last for very long.
Because this matter clearly will make his Wan Wan unhappy, Li Hong Yuan certainly won’t let his old man be happy either. Thus, that pair of emotionless eyes intently stared at Le Cheng Emperor, “Regarding the establishment of ceremonial altars for the Imperial Noble Consort, can the auspicious date be selected and begin the operation?”
This topic was completely outside of expectations. Le Cheng Emperor for a moment wasn’t able to react. Reasonably speaking, this wasn’t considered something urgent, so it was completely unnecessary to come look for him in a consort’s palace. However, shortly after, Le Cheng Emperor suddenly came to realization, especially when his son’s ice-cold gaze swept over Xian Consort Wei’s stomach. No matter how stupid, one would still understand what was wrong.

His Guan Guan was still roaming the mortal realm. Was she always by his side most of the times? Then……….Le Cheng Emperor couldn’t help but shiver. Previously, every time prior to rolling together with Xian Consort Wei, he seemingly would always, because of staring at Guan Guan’s portrait for a long time, have a hard time sleeping due to longing. If Guan Guan just happened to be by his side, how heartbroken would she be?
Seeing Le Cheng Emperor’s body stiffen, Li Hong Yuan was unmoved like a ripple-less old well. Because of the Imperial Noble Consort, he was able to come back to life again, and afterwards, fulfill his wish. That’s why, he wanted to save her. But, her relationship problems were completely outside of his scope of consideration. Exactly what kind of entanglement she had with this imperial father of his had nothing to do with him.
“Imperial father, this son needs to borrow these two imperial physicians, asking imperial father to graciously permit.”
Because his heart was truly too guilty, Le Cheng Emperor eagerly wished for this son to quickly leave, waving his hand, “Granted.” Not asking the reason.
“Many thanks imperial father, this son will take one’s leave.”
The two imperial physicians that were pretending to be the background board still withdrew by backing out. Li Hong Yuan, however, just directly turned around and stormed off. His conduct, to put it severely, was just disrespecting his superior. However, in Le Cheng Emperor’s eyes, this son was just angry.
On the day of his birthday banquet, what kind of reaction he had when receiving Guan Guan’s portrait, this son all took in. Yet, shortly after, he just slept with another woman, and even conferred her into a consort, so his son certainly would feel unhappy right now.
Li Hong Yuan took the physicians out of the palace, directly letting someone take them and send to the Head of the Imperial Academy’s home as quickly as possible. As for how those two imperial physicians’ bones will hold up, sorry, don’t count on the living Enma caring.
When Li Hong Yuan returned to Jin Qinwang Manor, Jing Wan was currently waiting anxiously. Seeing Li Hong Yuan, she hurriedly went forward, “Ah Yuan, how is it?” If not for her status, she would’ve personally rushed over. In reality, it’s not that she really can’t go, but rather, if she goes, never mind not being able to help, that family will even need to be busy with serving her. That was purely just causing trouble.
“Already sent the imperial physicians over.”
What can be done was already done. Next, it was just waiting for the results.
Seeing Jing Wan restlessly move about, Li Hong Yuan’s expression was somewhat heavy. However, right now, it wasn’t good for him to do anything either, sending someone over, and once there’s news, immediately return to report.
Just, this wait lasted nearly twenty-four hours. That night, Jing Wan naturally didn’t sleep well. And of course, it certainly wasn’t just her that didn’t sleep well. When she’s unable to sleep well, Li Hong Yuan naturally wasn’t able to either. That complexion already couldn’t be anymore darker.
Afterwards, they finally awaited news. The child was finally born, just the mother lost a lot of blood. The person was saved, but the core was greatly damaged, simply unable to recover in a short period of time, and afraid, won’t be able to give birth anymore. Afterwards, because the child was stuck in the mother’s body for too long, it was somewhat unwell, don’t know whether or not it can survive.
This situation seemingly was already a great fortune, yet Jing Wan’s heart was still heavy, letting Gong mama open the storeroom, selecting quite a few high quality medicinal ingredients to send over. As long as the mother can recover, it will be enough. Even if unable to give birth anymore, as long as she was present, she won’t let her suffer hardships. Just, this child was in the stomach for too long, just fearing that without the baby fluid, it will cause a lack of oxygen, and if in the end, result in cerebral palsy due to the lack of oxygen, the blow towards Ying Shuang certainly will be destructive.
For Li Hong Yuan, giving birth to children was also just that. Although dangerous, it wasn’t something he particularly cared about. Just, after hearing Jing Wan explain in detail, his eyes slightly narrowed. Towards other women, no matter how many died, it was also just that, but Wan Wan………..Li Hong Yuan was contemplating the possibility of not letting Jing Wan give birth to children.
The Head of the Imperial Academy’s family received the things Jing Wan sent, and were naturally deeply grateful.
Afterwards, seeing that many good things, things that certain people would probably never see in their lifetime, they naturally couldn’t help but produce greed, holding in their hand, loving too much to part, seemingly not wanting to put down again.
Gong mama took it all in, and towards these matters, she was very clear, so naturally just vaguely warned a few words. Whether it’s these things that’s important, or your respective husband’s future prospects that’s important, one better think carefully. Jin Qinwang although has no power and influence, blocking certain people’s future prospects was also something that couldn’t be easier.
Gong mama then looked towards Zhou Ying Shuang’s husband, “Her Highness wangfei very much cares for your esteemed madam. After all, the friends her Highness made after entering the capital were just those few. If not for her position, she probably would’ve personally taken the trip. Her Highness knows that you’re a faithful and upright person, so one best not let down her Highness’s expectations. In the future……….”
The unspoken words, everyone was all clear.
Gong mama took her leave.
The Head of the Imperial Academy’s family each had their own thoughts. However, as long as one still has a bit of brains, then should know what to do.
Because of this matter, Jing Wan’s mood was down for several days, and naturally just ‘neglected’ her own husband. Li Hong Yuan also just let her be, but of course, once she recovers, she will certainly ‘suffer the consequences’.
[1] 敬事房 – Baidu translated this as Respectability Room, which is a very literal translation. It’s unsure when this department was established, but this particular name for it was its name during the Qing dynasty. The building for it probably still exist inside the Forbidden City in Beijing.
This place is part of the Internal Affairs Department, and is in charge of all the eunuchs and palace maids in the palace, so somewhat like the HR of the palace. It’s managed by the chief eunuch. The eunuchs there are also responsible for the Emperor’s nighttime activities, such as keeping records of which consorts the Emperor sleeps with. This is so that when a consort gets pregnant they will have something to trace back to.
I’m unsure about other dynasties, but during the Qing dynasty, this office was also in charge of preparing the consorts for serving the Emperor at night. For example, when the Emperor picks the consort he will spend the night with, the eunuchs will go inform the consort, so that she can be cleaned and wrapped naked in a blanket, then carried onto the Emperor’s bed. This is to prevent assassinations. Can’t hide a weapon if you’re naked.

Woah… it’s already been 9-10 months since that banquet??? Why am I feeling like it just happened? >.< Maybe 2-3 months at the most it feels like to me. What time skip am I missing? LOL This hurts my head hehe
It’s disgusting to me for him to keep saying he’s so devoted to LHY’s mom, but then keep rolling around with extraneous people. But then I remember he’s also the person who killed her, so… can’t expect to feel anything but disgust about him.
I believe time wise it’s only been 3-4 months because the banquet took place before the new year, and its currently almost the 2nd lunar month due to Jing Wan’s bday coming up.
Are you thinking 9months because the pregnancy? Xian Consort just got pregnant she’s not giving birth lol
Ohhh, that’s what confused me. I thought the good news was the baby itself, not the news of a future baby. Okay, I’m good now. LOL Thanks for the clarification. Well, yeah, those physicians don’t need to all be with her then. They have plenty of time to look her over. Our girl’s friend is in trouble! (Now I’m going to read the chapter. I just came to check if someone had unconfused me, and you had! 🙂 )
Oh boy… i feel like we’ll be seeing another bout of chaos in the palace. Lets Get Ready To Rumble!
