Gong mama went out to instruct, and then returned.

While Jing Wan was tidying up, Li Hong Yuan also got up, calmly getting dressed. Although there wasn’t anything these last two days, he was indeed a bit tired, so should rest a few more days.

Although it wasn’t the meal time, this kind of situation in Jin Qinwang manor also wasn’t a first. The people of the back kitchen also didn’t panic, dealing with naturally.

On the dining table, Li Hong Yuan drank a bit of wine, “The war has just started, so the situation still isn’t considered too messy. Wan Wan, why don’t you find some time to make arrangements for the servant girls by your side.”

Jing Wan nodded. The originally planned time was also more or less around this time, “Just so perfectly letting a certain someone be pleased, no?” Jing Wan teased.

Li Hong Yuan was unconcerned, “They all take after this prince. This prince waiting for a wife, that’s waiting for several years. Just this bit for them is still far from comparison.”

Jing Wan nearly had the thing in her mouth spat out. This is not feeling ashamed, instead feeling honored? Towards this man’s skin thickness, that was thoroughly giving up all hope.

However, by Jing Wan’s side, there was the four Mei, Zhu, Lan, Ju, and the twins, Bai Shao and Hei Mei, in addition to a Fu Rong. Among the first four, Qing Ju was the most lively, originally also just a seventeen year old girl. Unfortunately, she was unwilling to marry no matter what. Speaking of which, by her side, there also wasn’t anyone giving her negative impressions, so how come just produced this kind of thought? And Hei Mei seemingly started to somewhat grow astray, becoming increasingly obsessed with martial arts, towards men, not having much interest. Afterwards, it was just Fu Rong, a girl from the brothels, who later even resolutely ruined her appearance. She was someone who already didn’t want to marry, so right now, there further wasn’t any more to say. Normally, when Jing Wan goes out, she for the most part all won’t follow.

For the remaining four, their husband, aside from Guard Qian, one was someone from Jing Wan’s dowry, one was similarly a guard in Jin Qinwang Manor, his parents also servants of the manor, and one was the son of the steward in charge of the outer courtyard, all having been personally looked over by Jing Wan.

She had the four called before her. Because she had gotten ‘angered’ by Li Hong Yuan, but couldn’t do anything to that man, towards these people, it was just finding them unpleasant to the eyes.

Facing Jing Wan’s cold attitude, the four were all somewhat trembling in fear, and aside from Guard Qian, who knew the reason, the other three were all a bit at a loss. Did they do something wrong and angered the wangfei?

However, even if Guard Qian knew, he was also helpless. Carrying the pot for wangye and whatnot, isn’t that only to be expected? Besides, it was them that wanted to marry someone by wangfei’s side, so just endure!

Although cold, Jing Wan at most just ‘advised’ a few words. Compared to the living Enma’s fighting power, sure enough, it was far too inferior.

As for the four servant girls that will soon marry, only Qing Lan had parents and brothers. That’s why, they probably still need Gong mama as well as Jing Wan’s wet nurse to stand in for their maiden family to marry them off. As for the groom’s side, it’s best if they have elders, if not, then they have to think of a way themselves.

The four of them, according to Jing Wan’s idea, it was slowly marrying off separately, at least dividing into two rounds, yet, in the end, it got bluntly overruled by Li Hong Yuan———-‘Those four servant girls of mine Wan Wan had married off all at once, so when it comes to the ones by Wan Wan’s side, one shouldn’t treat differently.’

Jing Wan very much wanted to say, that was clearly decided by you, alright?! But thinking about it, she just gave up. With this kind of person, there simply wasn’t any reason to speak of. Marrying altogether it is.

Thus, for the Luo family that was still paying attention to Jin Qinwang, seeing whether or not there was something, in the end, only learned that in the recent ten days, Jing Wan’s servant girls marrying can be considered the greatest matter. Well, sure enough, it was worrying for nothing, really not having anything at all.

It was Jin Qinwang Manor’s internal affairs after all, and also just servant girls marrying, so naturally won’t cause any waves.

Le Cheng Emperor had also sent people to pay attention to Jin Qinwang Manor’s situation. That bastard son although was still angry with him, but in the end, didn’t cause trouble, so he also just threw up his hands and ignored. The were many governmental affairs to begin with. In addition to the war in the northwest, he was busy to the point of completely not having any time to enter the imperial harem, so pacifying his son and what, it was just pushed back to another time.

And in reality, just as Li Hong Yuan had predicted, Le Cheng Emperor won’t really for the sake of framing Fu Yun Ting just disregard the people and soldiers in the northwest.

The war reports endlessly came through in unbroken succession. In reality, Fu Yun Ting sure enough was worthy of being the son of a military lineage. After arriving at the frontline, with a thundering move, he just immediately stabilized the situation, and at the same time, even carried out a neither big nor small counterattack, even obtaining victory. Although it can’t be considered a decisive victory, but during a time where Qi Yuan has been retreating in defeat little by little, it still had the effect of boosting morale. At least, it won’t let the Qi Yuan army feel that the Xiongnu army can’t be defeated.

And in reality, regardless whether it was the court or Fu Yun Ting, they all knew that things weren’t that optimistic, because the Xiongnu army had been too successful in battle, in a certain sense, even somewhat slacking, and moreover, looked down on Qi Yuan’s army. Fu Yun Ting was only able to prevail by catching them off guard. Once the Xiongnu army start to focus, the battles afterwards will only be more difficult.

Towards military affairs, Le Cheng Emperor didn’t understand too well, and because Fu Yun Ting was victorious in his first battle, his complexion was dark and heavy. The people that didn’t understand the reason for this, just thought that he understood the key matters within, thus not having a good complexion. As a result, they all nicely persuaded, and during this time, also had the matter torn apart and analyzed, even flattering Le Cheng Emperor, saying that he knew how to put good people to use. Le Cheng Emperor didn’t say a word, but still had the matter understood clearly. However, when getting flattered, he still nearly vomited blood. If his original intentions were as such, then he would be able to calmly accept, but the problem was that this wasn’t the case. Those words of flattery, in his ears, were practically just like mockery, yet, he just wasn’t able to expose his true feelings.

For the sake of pacifying the commoners, a court official proposed that Le Cheng Emperor can appropriately exaggerate the feat this time.

Le Cheng Emperor waved his hand, granting it.

It was obvious, in his heart, by having Fu Yun Ting raised high, when time comes, he will be even more miserable when falling, especially after learning some of the actual circumstances. Once he loses, the exaggerated contributions this time can completely be pinned on his head, believing that he had lied about his achievements. When time comes, it won’t just be adding one more offense.

However, although Le Cheng Emperor had thought it over beautifully, the problem was that he had a son that specialized in screwing him over. That’s why, things absolutely won’t go according to his wishes. In regards to Fu Yun Ting, this was just the beginning of his headache. As time passes, Fu Yun Ting will only become more and more successful, and Le Cheng Emperor can only continue to praise him. Even if wanting to find an excuse to punish him, the court officials and the people all won’t allow it. Probably in the end, it will still be like the previous Qi Yuan Emperors, failing to scheme against, and even securing the Fu family an unshakable position.

For the Fu family to have been able to tenaciously survive until now, in a certain sense, truly was quite unusual.

Of course, regardless of how terrible the war was in the northwest, for the people of the capital, it was still just carrying on as usual, eating, drinking, and playing around, indulging in a life of luxury. For the wealthy upper class, on the surface, perhaps they would still restrain themselves a little, but in private…………..Having never seen the cruelty of war, merely just hearing about it simply didn’t have any effect.

Just, there was one more person that completely couldn’t sit still, and that was He Shi Hai. The northwest was in flames, yet he was molding in the capital. That’s right, he was precisely molding. There were too many nobles in the capital, very easy to accidentally offend someone that one shouldn’t offend. He Shi Hai was also aware of this, that’s why, he avoided going out as much as possible. After all, he actually was one that can ‘attract disaster’ for no reason. That’s right, certain troubles just come to him just that strangely, even he himself don’t know how they come about, also feeling gloomy. Not only so, Jin Qinwang’s gates were also closed to him. Just like in the very beginning, He Shi Hai rather wanted to use his old method of blocking him outside, but unfortunately, he simply didn’t see Jin Qinwang go out. He Shi Hai felt that he was about to suffocate to death. He rather want to volunteer himself for war, but unfortunately, he didn’t have the qualifications to attend court, and the several memorandums that he submitted were all like sinking stones in the ocean.

What He Shi Hai didn’t know was that his memorandum simply didn’t get submitted. Before it even left the house, it already got switched out by his mother and grandmother.

And all of this was the result of Jin Qinwang’s incitement.

  1. Ahhhrrgh… I feel like I have lost a lot of brain cells this week. I don’t remember why the servant girls’ marriages were timed for now. And are they being married off to show that LHY is going to stay faithful/Wan Wan is a big vinegar pot? The whole Fu family thing still isn’t completely clear to me, but I think maybe it hasn’t been completely spelled out yet either, besides Wan Wan’s guess at the reason for the enmity. I also think you said it won’t be until the extra side stories that it will be explained more, so I can wait. It just felt like I had a haze in my brain with vague memories of lots of things in this chapter 🙁 (but that’s all on me, no worries)

    1. One sentence made me laugh out loud though lol “However, although Le Cheng Emperor had thought it over beautifully, the problem was that he had a son that specialized in screwing him over.” ROIJFSDOIFJsd Loved it hehe

Poor He Shi Hai, such a cute little bun-bun, you’ll get your time to shine (I assume), don’t fret! hehe Cutie.

    2. This time it’s mostly because of the war. Her servant girls are mostly already of age and have someone picked out, so it’s best to get married before the war becomes more serious. Otherwise, once the war becomes more intense, celebrations will be banned.

      1. Ahhh, okay, that makes sense. There was a sentence that made it sound like they’d been planning it for now for a long time without the war breaking. That’s what confused me.

        1. Well, it kinda has been in the plans for a while now. Even back before Jing Wan married, one of her servant girls was already in the middle of discussing marriage, so most of her servant girls were already of age. Servant girls usually will serve until they are 17-18 and then get married off. Just because of Jing Wan’s marriage happening early than they’d thought, it was delayed. Right now is just the best time for them marry since it might end up getting delayed even more if they don’t.
