After returning to the palace, Jing Wan saw her son. Her cold expression finally eased a little, having the little guy picked up. He will soon be four months old. And the little crown prince Li Tian Lin, upon seeing Jing Wan, also happily grinned. Because it was summer, his clothes were light and thin. His little hands and feet never stopped moving, like lotus roots, appearing exceptionally vigorous.
Jing Wan, for a moment, was a bit distracted, seemingly finally realizing that her son was already this big. Clearly, she’d looked at him everyday.
Shortly after, Jing Wan fell silent. Indeed, she’d only just looked at him, very rarely holding him. Sure enough, just as she’d predicted prior to his birth, even if under her eyelids, she will still miss out on his growth. Between her husband and her son, she had even more feelings poured onto her husband, and because her husband didn’t like, and also for the sake of not letting their father and son relationship worsen even more, she chose to compromise. Clearly, knowing this wasn’t right and shouldn’t be done, but it couldn’t be helped. It’s fine when there’s no conflict, but once there’s conflict, some sacrifices also need to be made.
“Son, your father has gone to expand the borders, so won’t be able to return anytime soon. There’s just the two of us left, so need to take advantage of the time to nicely bond.” Jing Wan said with a smile. Afterwards, she firmly kissed the little crown prince on his little cheek, making the little guy giggle nonstop.
Starting from this day, Jing Wan for the most part kept the little crown prince by her side at all times. Those memorandums that don’t need to be discussed with the court officials were all brought back to Kunyi Palace to read through. Sometimes, she even had the little crown prince brought to the imperial study. This level of willfulness was comparable to previously when Li Hong Yuan brought her to the imperial study. Perhaps, precisely because there was the previous example, the court officials’ reaction was instead mild. As the saying goes, those near cinnabar turn red, and those near ink turn black. Her Highness and his Majesty have been married for several years now, and can’t be more intimate, so she more or less caught some of his Majesty’s ‘bad habits’. She normally was easy to talk to, but it didn’t mean that she won’t have times where she’s obstinate. If she were to be stubborn, they similarly were helpless. After all, his Majesty right now has gone to battlefield. The rear need to be steady.
Moreover, the reasoning Jing Wan gave was also very adequate. The little crown prince is the heir apparent. It’s just ‘early education’. Hearing and seeing like this, perhaps in the future, before he even start his schooling, he’ll already be able to understand the major matters of the country. In the court officials’ perception, this was far from ‘pulling up the sprout to speed the growth’. After pondering, this seemingly was even quite reasonable. He was the heir apparent after all, so should start teaching early. As the saying goes, ‘by reading a hundred times, one will be able to understand’. As such, the more he listened, perhaps he really will be able to understand.
Thus, just like this, the little crown prince began his ‘super early education’.
However, speaking of which, it was also strange, when the little crown prince was in the inner palace, in a day, no matter what, he would all cry at least ten times. Moreover, it was all to an earth-shattering level, and they may not necessarily be able to coax him. At just a few months old, he was just like a little monster. However, when entering the imperial study, he for the most part never cried, and also for the most part never slept, laying in the cradle, waving his little hands and feet nonstop. His pitch black eyes sometimes gave people the feeling that he seemingly was seriously listening.
For the court officials that were able to enter the imperial study, even the youngest was already a grandfather. The times they played with their grandchildren were relatively few. After all, because of sitting in a high position, having heavy responsibility, they had many matters to handle, so can only occasionally play with when free. Seeing the little crown prince, they certainly cherished inside. Furthermore, because he was the heir apparent, they had an even greater hope placed on him. Seeing that clever and cute look, their faces were able to smile into a flower.
Among them, the most prominent was naturally Luo Pei Shan. Others couldn’t do anything, but he was just able to openly pinch that little hand and grab his little feet. It was practically just ‘insolent’.
However, even her Highness was sitting there smiling, not having the slightest objection, so it wasn’t good for the others to say anything. Sour little bubbles bubbled in their heart, along with their hands itching.
However, it couldn’t be helped, who let the little crown prince be Luo Pei Shan’s outer great-grandson. The others certainly can’t compare with him.
In front of these colleagues, Luo Pei Shan was just subtly smug, but once he returned to the Luo manor, in front of Luo Old Madam, that was really just full of flaunting.
Luo Old Madam also felt her hand itch, and the next day, just directly sent her plaque into the palace. In any case, right now she also don’t need to be like before, being cautious and solemn, every time going to Jin Qinwang Manor always fearing that others will think that Jin Qinwang was forming a private faction. Right now, as long as the men of the Luo family stay cautious in officialdom, everything else was all trivial. No one can criticize.
In the great-grandchildren generation of the Luo family, right now, there was already as many as six. It goes without saying, it absolutely won’t just stop here. Later, there will certainly still be more coming.
Speaking of which, they were all quite good-looking. However, right now, they all weren’t in the capital. When Luo Jing Bo and the others all got thrown to the outer regions by their grandfather, Luo Old Madam specially gave permission, letting the granddaughter-in-laws also follow them, and if possible, continue adding more great-grandchildren for her. As for the ones that were already born, because the children were all small, they were also all taken along.
This, for them, naturally was an enormous favor. Setting aside Sun Yi Jia, little Wang-shi was the first branch’s eldest daughter-in-law, and on normal days, just assisted her mother-in-law in managing the household. Reasonably speaking, no matter what, it was impossible for her to go with her husband. In the beginning, when receiving the news, she was still very dejected inside. After all, her husband has a previous record, the shu son placed there. Even though the birth mother has long been sent away, with him needing to leave for three years, it was impossible for him to not have anyone serving by the side. As for the third branch that Zhao-shi was in, because her father-in-law was paralyzed on the bed year round, even having a special little sister-in-law cooped up in the home, and the remaining little brother and sister-in-laws were all still small, reasonably speaking, she should also stay behind to assist her mother-in-law, so never held hope that she’d be able to accompany her husband.

As such, Luo Madam’s final decision just made them brim with joy. Prior to leaving, they also returned to their maiden home, receiving their own mothers repeated warning, must have their husband nicely won over. The Luo family’s status currently was increasingly noble. Many people all have ideas. Never mind wanting to have marriage ties normally, the ones that wanted to have their beautiful daughters given to the men of the Luo family as concubines were all too numerous to count. In the capital, there was Head Minister Luo overseeing, so naturally it was impossible to do anything, but once they reach the outer regions, far from the capital, then often times, it was hard to say.
Little Wang-shi and Zhao-shi were increasingly nervous. However, Sun Yi Jia was actually quite indifferent. The men of the Luo family, for the sake of their future prospects, probably won’t do anything that will anger little sister Wan. Her temper although was good, but some things, she absolutely won’t yield on. Moreover, right now, she was the one supervising the country. The war with Southern Qi may not necessarily end within three years. When time comes, weren’t their future prospects completely grasped in little sister Wan’s hand. Only an idiot would deliberately offend while knowing her taboo. And towards her own husband, she also very much trusted.
The matters were all methodically arranged. On her grandmother’s side, the situation was still pretty good, and because able to see clearly, there was nothing to be dejected about. As for her own father, his execution after autumn was something that absolutely can’t be changed. The rest of the people within three relations of her father were also all sent away to serve a penal sentence. The only thing that was uncertain was just her fifth brother, don’t know why there was still no news. On one hand she was a bit happy, while on the other hand, she was also worried.
Perhaps having gotten overly provoked by her husband, after entering the palace, Luo Old Madam just held the little crown prince without letting go. So what if that old thing can play with him, can he hold him like this?
After Jing Wan learned the reason, she didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. However, it was also rare to see her grandmother also have this side to her. Thus, she just let her be. Jing Wan was in the middle of drafting regulations. Some things, they can start implementing.

I just love Luo Pei Shan’s silly parts in the novel. It seems all the old men love to brag in the presence of their colleagues whenever they get the chance. Despite this, though, Luo Pei Shan will never win against his wife, lol. She’ll always have the upper hand.
I also love that Jing Wan will get this time to bond with her son, since it’ll probably be the only time she’ll really get to do it, especially since early emotional development plays a vital role in children’s overall growth.
Thanks for the chapter! 😀
