The girl walking in front didn’t say anything either, that gaze just directly landing on Jing Wan.
At Jing Wan’s side there was still a patient clinging to her, so she walked rather slowly. By the time she noticed, many pairs of eyes were all concentrated on her. Jing Wan naturally and magnanimously curtsied in greeting, freely allowing them to size her up with a light smile on her face. Immediately after, she stepped to the side.
All say, the more people there were, the more Jing Wan was able to show off her uniqueness.
“Luo Old Madam, as expected, is one that knows how to instruct.”
“Wasn’t it said that this girl has already withdrawn from an engagement? Perhaps…….”
That’s right, the matter of Jing Wan withdrawing from her engagement has already slowly spread among these people. Naturally there were those that wanted to take advantage of the situation. However, they simply were just unaware that Jing Wan has long become a certain few’s bargaining chip in the game. They simply don’t have the slightest possibility to insert a foot.
After the morning meal, for the most part, things began getting busy again.
While Yuan Qiao Qiao was being ordered by her mother to obediently stay there, Jing Wan used the time to go check on Luo Jing Bo.
Luo Jing Bo had already put on the crimson wedding garment, however the area around his eyes were a little dark. Looks like he didn’t sleep well last night. However, his spirit was pretty good. Because quite a few of the people that are going to go escort the bride together with him were all present, Jing Wan naturally didn’t go in, only ordering someone to have him called out.
Knowing that his younger sister was looking for him, Luo Jing Bo naturally immediately abandoned the bunch that might help him later, and diligently headed out. Those people naturally were displeased, all flocking out, just wanting to see who it was that made him this impatient.
Afterwards, they saw Jing Wan from far away, and each and every one all came to a halt.
Chen Zheng Min looked to Jing Wan who was smilingly talking to Luo Jing Bo, and held back the impulse to cover his chest, but he really couldn’t ignore the pain coming from there. Such a beautiful person, if from the start, he never had the chance to obtain her, then perhaps it wouldn’t be this painful. Clearly he was once that close to her, just one step, just short of that one last step of having her married back. But this last step, he could no longer take.
Among them, there were quite a few that were Luo Jing Bo’s schoolmates and friends, all seeing Jing Wan for the first time, and couldn’t help asking who was this young miss. Afterwards, learning that she was Luo Jing Bo’s full-blooded di younger sister, some couldn’t help but ‘curse’ Luo Jing Bo. This bastard hid such a pretty and outstanding younger sister at home, yet they weren’t aware in the slightest.
“A young lady of the boudoir (aka an unmarried young lady), for what reason should one let you all know?” Chen Zheng Min’s gaze sharpened, and spoke with a cold expression. Soon after, he turned and left.
Previously, this flower snatcher (3rd place in imperial exam), although appeared a bit cold, but still spoke very gently. How come he instantly just changed face? This made everyone all look to one another in dismay.
On the other side, Jing Wan teased her own elder brother a few words. Although it wasn’t as unrestrained as those brothers of his, but it further made Luo Jing Bo unable to hold his own. “Little sis, do I really have to do it that way?”
“Not necessarily, just depends on the situation.” Jing Wan rather roguishly said to Luo Jing Bo.

Although she said it like so, he kept feeling that if he doesn’t act according to her words……The back of his neck was somewhat breezy. “En, little sis is right, as a man of character, one should just boldly express it out loud, even if the situation doesn’t allow it.” He very ‘righteously’ said.
Jing Wan smilingly nodded her head. Towards her elder brother’s awareness, she was very satisfied.
After Jing Wan left, Luo Jing Bo’s face instantly crumbled, wrinkled like a bitter melon. He was going to get made fun of by those guys again, but facing his younger sister’s ‘tyranny’, what did the brothers’ mockery count as.
After going back, everyone saw that his face was somewhat peculiar. Rather, it was his own family’s brothers that were relatively understanding of the situation. Luo Jing Ming smilingly patted his shoulder, “What’s wrong, did third younger sister give you a difficult problem again?”
“Second brother, can your ‘pleasure at another’s misfortune’ not be that obvious?”
Luo Jing Ming covered his mouth and coughed once, but the smiling expression in his eyes weren’t concealed in the slightest. “No, that uh, what did third younger sister want you to do?” He had a stance of wanting to get to the bottom of it.
“Second brother, you will also get married someday.” Luo Jing Bo threatened.
However, Luo Jing Ming wasn’t bothered in the slightest, “Don’t hide it, sooner or later we will all know. Revealing a little right now, we’ll be mentally prepared in advance, so as to avoid losing our manners when time comes from being too shocked.”
“How do you know this is something I have to do under the public eye in front of numerous people?”
“I originally didn’t know, but now I know, quickly say it.”
Luo Jing Bo was vexed. The others, hearing Luo Jing Ming’s words, were also curious, all urging him to quickly say it.
Luo Jing Bo thought for a moment. In any case, when they go escort the bride, they will all find out anyways. Thus, he mumbled it under his breath.
As a result, everyone that heard, not one wasn’t greatly astonished. Afterwards, someone began laughing out loud, “Brother Jing Bo, waiting to see your performance.”
The time elapsed little by little. Everyone on the groom’s side have all gathered, and the time was more or less ready. Luo Jing Bo flipped onto a tall horse, carrying joy, carrying expectation, and also carrying a bit of hard to believe excitement.
“Hey, Jing Ming, say, will your third brother really do that later?”
“He will.” Luo Jing Ming very confidently replied. How could third brother go against third younger sister’s wishes.
The people to the side all couldn’t help biting their tongue, “But that’s, that’s……..”
“Expressing his feelings of admiration in public, that’s all.”
“That’s all?”
The dowry the Ding Duke Manor sent out yesterday really made others widen their eyes, attracting countless people to come watch, the crowd not at all lacking when compared to the top three imperial exam candidates’ parade through the streets two days ago. Reportedly, even among the current consorts of the imperial princes’, not a single one of their dowry was comparable to Sun Yi Jia’s. Thus, this escort of the bride today also attracted quite a bit of attention. Moreover, because Luo Jing Bo had caused a great disturbance when sending the betrothal gifts, the crowd was also curious whether or not he will also pave a new path today as well.
The clamor finally reached the Ding Duke Manor, which appeared rather quiet. Moreover, there was only one person guarding the gates, but this person’s position was a bit too high, making the groom somewhat limp inside.
The others that came to help him also couldn’t help but feel their backs grow cold. Afraid it won’t be easy to marry back this bride today.
“Greetings elder brother-in-law.” Luo Jing Bo deferentially greeted.
Sun Yi Lin very warmly returned the courtesy, and moreover, that face was also full of smiles. “There isn’t a lot of hurdles today, just two, that’s all. After entering the gates, and all the way until my younger sister’s courtyard, there all won’t be anyone blocking your path.”
Easy, indeed too easy, but precisely because it was too easy, it instead forced them to put in a hundred twenty percent.
But, you, Sun Yi Lin, want to come quiz this many people alone? Aren’t you looking down on them too much? They all rolled up their sleeves, ready for battle. Even if it’s the number one gentleman of the capital, they will still have him pushed back.
“The first problem isn’t that hard either, just poetry, for the people that have come to help, each one poem, the requirement, naturally it’s according to the scene.”
Heavens, this is too cruel. Among them, there were those that came for the sake of using brute force to help open a path.
“Each one poem? Not requiring that it must be composed by the person themselves?” Chen Zheng Min opened his mouth.
Sun Yi Lin nodded his head and looked to Chen Zheng Min, his eyes slightly narrowing.
This was the so called, ‘before one’s love rival, one’s eyes were exceptionally red’. Moreover, Sun Yi Lin had even declared war against Chen Zheng Min before. As a result, without him even needing to mess up the matter, Chen Zheng Min still lost completely. However, even so, Chen Zheng Min still wanted to compete with Sun Yi Lin. Even if I lose, you won’t have it easy either.
“Then I’ll go first.” Chen Zheng Min recited ten in one breath, without even stopping to breathe.
Even if he’d prepared in advance, but to be able to prepare this many, that is still extremely impressive, “Good!”
Sun Yi Lin must admit, Chen Zheng Min was even more talented than he’d anticipated. Moreover, in the recent few days, the speed of his growth was shocking.
The ones that came to help escort the bride, there were twenty of them, so they still lacked ten more, but this naturally wasn’t a problem.
Sun Yi Lin didn’t comment on their skills either. As long as it wasn’t too disappointing, then it’ll just count as passing.
The second problem was pairing couplets. He will recite the first line, and the groom side will follow up with the next line. There were no limits on the amount of couplets. Whenever he says stop is when they will stop. When he finished explaining the rules, he immediately began reciting the first line.
Sun Yi Lin’s speed wasn’t all that fast, but it was more or less a line every five seconds.
One misstep, and you might still be thinking about the previous one and miss the next one.
But this most important rule, he didn’t say. That’s why, this number one gentleman and whatnot, too hateful.
Fortunately, Chen Zheng Min who was in front was all able to answer in the quickest speed, so the ones in the back could only divide the work. Thus, this obstacle, they also narrowly passed.
“The third problem, shouldn’t younger brother-in-law also show off a bit of something?”

so much mixed feelings with these 2 poor unaware plebeians…. hope one day czm will move on from jing wan, because looks like he’ll be here for a while and it’s gonna be so tiring reading him throwing muds on a brick wall at sun yi lin. one, he’s already gonna be married to that crazy little junzhu, so this is entirely pointless. two, it’s barking up the hecking wrong tree lmfaooo //sweats//
jing bo, please never change hahahaha
Thanks for the update, Jen.💖 I’m looking forward to Jing Bo’s public expression of admiration.😍🤭
I look forward to what Jing Wan asked ( * cough * ordered! * cough * ) him to do! The wedding is finally here! So exciting! I hope Sun Yi Jia will feel like a princess while she is being carried out. Thank you for the chapter part!
I’m hoping it’s a bridal/princess carry and not the back carry that I’ve seen in wedding descriptions of other novels. The latter just doesn’t sound romantic.
Err that back carry onto the sedan is by the brother of the bride, or male relative if one doesn’t have a brother, this is part of traditional chinese wedding customs.
Really?😮 In the Chinese webnovels I’ve read, it was always the groom who did it.🙄 But now that I think of it, the groom would it when carrying the bride from the sedan.
It’s a marriage custom that has continued to modern times though slowly dying out in a lot of regions, something about being inauspicious for the bride’s feet to touch the ground when leaving her maiden home, but it’s always the bride’s brother carrying her onto the sedan, or male cousin of same surname if she doesn’t have a brother. The groom isn’t suppose to have physical contact with the bride until after the bowing ceremony, it’s just against customs and for being inauspicious, so coming off the sedan the bride is lead along with a red silk bow with the groom holding the other end of the silk.
Again, this is how the traditional customs go, whether authors actually do research and write it realistically or make it up as they go is a different matter. There are also different customs depending on region, but in ancient times, people mostly follow what’s recorded in the Book of Rites.
