These people’s complexion, that really was quite interesting. This clearly was just giving them an initial show of strength. Even if a qinwang, wasn’t this a bit too much? Really think they don’t have a temper? Alright, so what if they had a temper, wasn’t it still having to endure? And go back? This kind of purely perfunctory words, it was just something to listen to. If the main party doesn’t come down, they can only just wait while starving.
“Castrate dog.” Someone spatted a curse at Eunuch Mu’s back.
They can’t curse Jin Qinwang, so naturally just vented on the people by his side. And Eunuch Mu’s attitude was truly infuriating too. Merely a lackey, yet dared to speak to them like this, practically…………..
Even if a dog, that was also Jin Qinwang’s dog. He was precisely a dog relying on his master’s power. And you all, who on normal days, would just look down from high and above, aside from talking big, really can’t do anything to him either.
For Eunuch Mu, that was just coming to pull in grudges by order. For people like him, having their master at their side, without the master’s order, they really didn’t dare to act as they pleased.
Speaking of which, the miserable ones weren’t just them, the accompanying people similarly were like so. Previously, they’d already been ruthlessly tormented by the smell, swallowing their saliva while patiently enduring, originally thinking, once they reach Kaiming Fu and get off the boat, they can nicely eat their fill and can very quickly forget this torture. And the result? Clearly by the shore already, yet they still have to continue squatting on the boat and gnaw on rations, drink plain water, and even uncontrollably think about what kind of delicious delicacies are on Jin Qinwang’s dining table. The more they thought, the harder it was to swallow, clearly wanting to restrain themselves to not think about, yet unable to no matter what.
Was there still heavenly order?!
Jing Wan who was sitting by Li Hong Yuan’s side was also thinking this. Say, how bored are you to do this kind of thing?
Li Hong Yuan picked up some food with the chopsticks and placed it in her bowl, unconcernedly opening his mouth, “Presumably, along this journey, more and more people will become familiar with the ‘living Enma’s reputation’, so naturally need to let them know, this isn’t just in name but also in reality, letting them have their skin stretched tight at all times. If they slack off, I will be relatively embarrassed.”
Can you not use this kind of tone, saying this kind of infuriating thing?
This while, Jing Wan didn’t interfere either. Whatever she would do on normal days was whatever she did at this time. Her purpose in coming out was just to have fun anyways.
Li Hong Yuan did as he said he would, holding Jing Wan, and comfortably began taking his afternoon nap. Afterwards, he finally ordered down to prepare descending the boat.
And the officials on the shore, felt they were about to ascend into heaven. Of course, this certainly was an illusion. They’ve finally received news that Jin Qinwang was coming down.
The people on the rest of the boats wiped their sweat, quickly and orderly descended their boat, and properly stood to the empty space to the side, respectfully welcoming together with the others.
The guards on the large vessel separated into two rows, steadily and soundlessly coming down, then lined up on the two sides on shore.
Jin Qinwang, who they’ve been anticipating for a long time now, finally showed himself. Although looking straight at him at this time was greatly disrespectful, but secretly sweeping a glance, with this many people present, probably won’t get noticed by anyone.
Just, too many people thought this, and so, what landed in Li Hong Yuan’s eyes was just the entirety of Kaiming Fu’s officials all appearing crafty-looking.

Towards these people, Li Hong Yuan was very discontent, and these people, because of that stealthy glance, were endlessly shocked inside. They seemingly finally recalled, on the information they received, it similarly mentioned, Jin Qinwang was the capital’s number one male beauty. They practically all had this line overlooked. Although for Qi Yuan’s officials, that face also needed to be proper looking, but just this was enough. A bunch of old men, still care about what face? However, seeing Li Hong Yuan, the finally understood, exactly what it means to be the number one male beauty, and also what kind of graceful bearing that was.
Although not cladded in the formal qinwang gown, wearing a jade crown on the head, wrapped in black brocade, with dark colored patterns and golden thread edges, his appearance bright and handsome, with ice-cold eyes, he appeared noble, dignified, and lofty.
Such a person occupied all of the honor and favor, a natural-born noble. Even if knowing his terrible reputation, it was still very difficult to produce ill will first thing.
Just, the woman by his side, merely just a step behind, was also dignified and imposing, calmly standing by Jin Qinwang’s side, also appearing magnificently peerless. Without a doubt, she should be Jin Wangfei. Such a serious occasion, Jin Qinwang all had her brought along at his side, it can be seen, how much he cared about her. They somewhat regretted not carefully reading the information regarding this wangfei.
Li Hong Yuan held Jing Wan’s hand, slowly walking down. Behind them was Yu Zhong Qing, Li Su Yan, and then behind then were the personal bodyguards, servant girls, and so on.
Ignoring the carriage the Kaiming Fu officials prepared, in merely a moment, that luxurious ‘recreational vehicle’ was moved down from the boat, and attached onto the horses.
Prior to getting on the horse carriage, Li Hong Yuan disdainfully glanced at the four horses, just like looking at the most worthless rubbish, “Using such things to brush off this prince, sure is giving this prince face.”
The Governor-General and Inspector General standing at the very front couldn’t help breaking out in cold sweat. These four horses have gone through careful selection. Although not the best horses of Kaiming Fu, but these four horses, regardless whether it’s the build, height, or fur coat, all very pure and similar looking. At first glance, one would even think all were the same horse. There were none more fitting to draw the carriage than them. One has to know, as their owner, when learning that they will be used to pull the carriage, they heartached endlessly, yet now them were getting disdained like this.
If one were to truly use the best treasured horse, one definitely won’t be able to find the same four. Moreover, who would wastefully use treasured horses to pull the carriage.
“Wangye, these four horses, this wife quite like, and can also tell the officials sincerity and intentions.” Jing Wan said with a smile.
Li Hong Yuan’s expression soften a little, “Since wangfei said this, that just forget it.”
Once the two were seated, Yu Zhong Qing and Li Su Yan got on horseback, one to the right, one to the left, residing on the two sides of the horse carriage. In front two groups of bodyguards open up the path, and behind them, there were even more bodyguards.
The other officials either got on horseback, or got on carriages, flusteredly following after.
The temporary residence prepared for Li Hong Yuan was one of the Governor-General’s luxurious villas. This place that made many people envious once again made Jin Qinwang disdain.
The huge volume of luggage that was brought along was swiftly moved down. The villa once again got replaced with everything new.
Previously, they were still feeling that Jin Qinwang was purely looking for trouble for nothing, yet now, they kept silent. When it comes to luxury, when it comes to meticulousness, who can compare with Jin Qinwang. As excepted, in this aspect, don’t even think about bribing him. Even if you brought out all your family belongings, in his eyes, it was still nothing at all.
Then, beauties? Recalling Jin Wangfei who has already gone to the rear court, and recalling the beauties Jin Qinwang raised that were even comparable to the Emperor’s imperial harem, if it’s as the information states, then this seemingly wasn’t too possible either.
Each and every one wanted to worm their way into being friends with him, yet Li Hong Yuan didn’t have that mood, having them brushed off with no room to comment.
With no other choice, they could only retreat a step, expressing to arrange a banquet at night for Jin Qinwang to welcome him and wash away the dust.
Li Hong Yuan coldly sneered, “Everyone has a lot of money? Then, this prince can start investigating from you all?”
“Wangye, where do these words come from?” As expected, after a few more glances, it was still his true nature that further made one terrified.
Li Hong Yuan coldly glanced at the Governor-General, “This lousy villa, this prince doesn’t fancy, but this construction cost, probably also exceeds your worth, right? You all arranging a banquet, what good things can you bring out to entertain this prince? This prince isn’t in the mood to bother with you all, so just get lost however far you can. Without summoning you all, don’t appear before this prince.”
Since the words were already said like this, who would still dare to continue staying behind.
Exiting the gates, you look at me, and I look at you, seemingly holding bitter medicine in their mouth. This heart was also violently beating, difficult to calm. For the living Enma, as expected, there was only having the wrong name, but never having the wrong nickname. This kind of person, how can they curry favor with? Could it be that they need to show that they have clean hands, and were honest and upright? But this one wasn’t someone that would fall for this trick either. After all, at a place Jin Qinwang previously stopped over at, the officials drew on the lessons from before, going the opposite way by pretending to be poor. As a result, they directly got their homes searched by Jin Qinwang, and for anyone whose wealth exceeded what they stated, they would just get pinned the crime of deceiving the emperor, and without a second word, directly thrown into prison.
The ones afterwards that went all out in having him served well could still relax a little.
“On Jin Wangfei’s side………….”
“Looks like can only do this.”
“What if Jin Wangfei refuse to meet, or if Jin Qinwang doesn’t let meet, what should we do then?”
“At least can’t just sit and wait for death. As long as there is a single possibility, all need to try. He most likely won’t stay here for too long. After all, those students’ matter can’t be delayed any longer.”
“Jin Qinwang isn’t an ordinary person, so naturally can’t infer with common sense. Who knows whether or not he’ll use Kaiming Fu to test the blade, killing the chicken to warn the monkey.”
That’s why, it truly was the more they talked, they more uncertain they felt.
“Have you all cleanly taken care of the matter at hand already?” The Inspector General semi-vaguely asked.
Someone bitterly laughed, “How is it that easy.”
Some things, once done, it won’t be that easy to erase cleanly. As long as it’s investigated to the end, it will certainly all be revealed. Jin Qinwang has brought along the Black Clad Guards at his side, a pile of capable people. Some people perhaps will help you conceal, but even more people instead want to have your old lair turned inside out. That’s why, it really won’t be able to withstand a serious investigation.
“We all need to steady ourselves. Since we’re not his target, we can’t fall first. Thinking of a way to have this plague god sent away is the most important right now. If we can’t…………..” The Governor-General’s face revealed a ruthless expression.
Everyone’s heart froze. Unless reaching a dead end, no one wanted to take this step.
“Let’s just scatter.” The Inspector General waved his hand and proceeded ahead of them.
The rest also left in succession.
In the villa, Li Hong Yuan faintly stared at the table, seemingly contemplating something.
“Master, the matter has already been taken care of.” An Yi entered from outside and said in a respectful tone.
Li Hong Yuan faintly nodded his head.

lmao ,kill the prince? And the one who no other prince has any benefit at killing? Its like literally giving a clean chit to anyone from outside interfering and having given anyone one who has a bone to pick with jiangnan’s administration a chance to openly sort them out.
I bet the fools push out a scapegoat.
Spring cleaning incoming
Are these idiots thinking…..if push comes to shove to kill the prince??? Bhahahahaha
considering the questionable attitudes already exhibited by some, i cant shake this niggling feeling that some completely and utterly brainless moron (likely a 2nd gen wastrel) will do something to offend Jing Wan or perhaps insult her and our resident Enma will start his business by cleaning house there.
I swear, this novel is driving me to thinking in circles whether cliches will happen or not and in what form.
