When Luo Old Madam saw this horse carriage, she also fell silent for a good while. However, hearing that this horse carriage was specially remodeled and wasn’t that shaky, and recalling her granddaughter suffering hardship if in a horse carriage for too long, then recalling the matters regarding Jin Qinwang, regardless how much he cares about Wan Wan, with that rotten reputation of his outside, it was still him that owed Wan Wan. Moreover, Wan Wan was his future wife, no matter how good he is to Wan Wan, that is still rightfully so. Thus, she unhesitantly waved her hand, letting Jing Wan accept it.

Jing Wan didn’t attentively study the things on the horse carriage. In any case, she’s already seen the level of extravagance of Li Hong Yuan’s horse carriage before, so naturally didn’t care that much. What she cared about was similarly that ‘shock reduction’ quality. However, for Jing Wan, Jin Qinwang was actually still just someone she was acquainted with, that’s all. What was relatively special, aside from having the title of fiancees, was just that very intimate interaction that one time. Even so, she was still unable to coolly and collectedly accept his things, taking it for granted. Although it’s said, in Qi Yuan, after getting engaged, giving gifts won’t get criticized and whatnot, but what Jin Qinwang did for her can be considered considerate and attentive. Speaking from a certain degree, for example, under normal circumstances, it was just the two families exchanging gifts during the New Year Festival, and what he did seemed somewhat overboard.

However, seeing grandmother accept it without a second word, Jing Wan also didn’t say anything. In any case, the one to enjoy this pleasure in the end was still herself. Using all kinds of excuses to brush away Jin Qinwang’s face, never mind making things embarrassing, one would even appear unreasonable. She didn’t want to be a ‘bitch’. Even if afterwards, she learned this carriage’s worth, momentarily falling silent, but slightly converting the amount again, en, she was just given a probably worth several hundred million dollar luxury car. Then, recalling the other party’s worth being in the several billions and hundred billions, this for him was probably just a drop in the ocean. Thus, Jing Wan calmed down.

Fortunately, Li Hong Yuan’s inherent purpose was just wanting to let Jing Wan feel comfortable, and wasn’t thinking of wanting to win her favor. Otherwise, with Jing Wan’s reaction being this indifferent, he probably would be depressed again.

However, Li Hong Yuan also knew, towards materialistic things, Jing Wan really didn’t care all that much. The good, the exquisite, she’s able to enjoy, and the bad, the crude, she also won’t grumblingly refuse. That’s why, to want to use clothes and accessories, this ordinary method to win her favor, for the most part, wasn’t too possible.

Sun Yi Jia closed her eyes, out of sight, out of mind. Considering that Jin Qinwang’s performance at present was still pretty good, she decided to say a little less bad things about him. Of course, just this definitely wasn’t enough. That lustful rotten personality of his was the most crucial of all. Thinking to here, Sun Yi Jia felt stuffy again. Even if he’s a qinwang, can’t he keep his hands clean a little?

The rustling sound of movement sounded outside, and very soon, the inner layer’s curtains were also lifted. Qing Zhu had already taken off her embroidered shoes, first greeting Sun Yi Jia, then walking to Jing Wan’s side, softly opening her mouth, “Miss, are you still feeling unwell?”

Jing Wan opened her eyes, “It’s tolerable. Do you know how long we’ll be stopping for?”

“Already went to ask. Miss, do you want to eat some fruits?”

“Just bring a little.”

“Don’t worry, this servant knows your habit. How about this servant read to you for the time being?” When the carriage was moving, reading damaged the eyes, so miss has never let them read during those times.

“Temporarily don’t need.” Jing Wan sat up, “Elder sister-in-law, how are you feeling?”

“Anyone with eyes can all tell, I’m definitely better off than you.” Sun Yi Jia mocked.

“Then that’s good.” Jing Wan unconcernedly said. It was more likely for a pregnant person to get dizzy, this was an indisputable fact. But right now, she was even more delicate than a pregnant woman. Jing Wan was truly helpless.

Qing Zhu covered her mouth and laughed, holding the circular fan and lightly fanning for Jing Wan.

Because Sun Yi Jia was pregnant, there wasn’t a basin of ice placed inside the carriage. However, this carriage in itself was much cooler and refreshing than the outside to begin with. If one just peacefully stayed still, one wasn’t likely to sweat. It was also because of this that Sun Yi Jia decided to stay behind, else letting Jing Wan not use ice along with her, suffering the hardship together, she definitely wasn’t willing. Sun Yi Jia previously was still puzzled. That horse carriage of hers far didn’t have this kind of effect. Now, she suspected that below the this ivory mat was also cool jade.

“Fan elder sister-in-law, pregnant people are more likely to heat up.”

Just as these words dropped, the curtain was once again lifted. This time, it was several people.

“Miss, third young madam, the front came to deliver a message. There’s a forest up ahead. His Majesty feels the scenery is pretty good, thus called for a stop, saying to proceed after the afternoon meal. This servant has let someone have the umbrella propped up. Why don’t you all come down for a sit?”

At the moment, there was still two hours until the afternoon meal. Moreover, even if it was a sufficiently large forest, the carriage fleet was still able to deeply enter? As expected of the Emperor, never knowing to consider how it’ll be for others, and never needing to consider either. This really wasn’t ordinarily willful.

This stop will at least take four hours, so one definitely can’t stay in the carriage the whole time.

The wet nurse led the servant girls in swiftly having the things outside prepared.

Unlike other families, who still needed to take time and effort to put up the canopy tent, for them it was just a large umbrella, and with Hei Mei and Bai Shao present, without much effort, the umbrella just firmly stood up, and afterwards, spreading the mat cushions, short table, backrest, refreshments, fruit plates, and even using the materials on hand, quickly making flower arrangements.

The entire process, Sun Yi Jia all took in. Speaking of which, the other families’ canopy haven’t even erected, yet here, they’ve already finished taking care of everything? Moreover, it was just by a few similarly delicate looking servant girls?

Sun Yi Jia turned to look at Jing Wan. She kept feeling that this kind of outcome also had something to do with little sister Wan. Tsk, as expected, she was different from the masses. Clearly something very simple, yet others just weren’t able to think of it.

“Elder sister-in-law, stop blanking out, let’s go down.” Jing Wan saw that look of worship in Sun Yi Jia’s eye, feeling it was rather laughable. Is it really necessary? She merely arranged it according to her past life’s beach sunbathing style.

As soon as the two got down from the carriage, Luo Jing Bo also came over. Seeing the shady area already prepared, his gaze swept towards Jing Wan, “Just now I even asked grandmother whether or not I needed to instruct someone to set up the canopy tent, but grandmother just said, no need for me to worry, little sis you will prepare everything. I was even thinking, this kind of thing, how can one just let little sis you handle alone, yet in the end, the one eating idle rice[1] is actually me?”

Jing Wan rolled her eyes at him, “Hei Mei, have the umbrella in your hand given to third young master, this one who doesn’t want to eat idle rice.”

Luo Jing Bo looked to that umbrella. Hei Mei held it quite effortlessly, but he feels the weight won’t be light. Moreover, in Hei Mei’s eyes, there clearly was a bit of mischievousness. To avoid losing face, he repeatedly begged for mercy, “Little sis, little sis, third brother was wrong, please forgive third brother this time. Third brother is precisely one that eats idle rice. Your people are the capable ones.”

Sun Yi Jia walked over, lightly pinching his arm with a smile, “Good-for-nothing.”

Luo Jing Bo thus went from eating idle rice to eating soft rice[2], “With little sis and wife being this capable, it doesn’t matter if I’m useless.” That expression was especially shameless.

“Bastard thing, you really are good-for-nothing.” Luo Pei Shan ‘angry’ voice sounded.

Luo Jing Bo shrunk back, immediately jumping behind Sun Yi Jia, pulling Sun Yi Jia’s arm, “Dear wife, how come you didn’t warn me that grandfather came.” Appearing as if lowering his voice, but in reality, everyone all heard.

Despite clearly knowing that he was being deliberate, Sun Yi Jia still blushed because of him, “Who’d bother with you, this good-for-nothing.” She quickly walked to Jing Wan’s side, even hating that she can’t let Jing Wan have her entire person blocked.

Luo Jing Bo had a rather wronged look.

  1. That family banter is ❤️

I agree with the thoughts on SYJ… it’s bothering me too tbh.

  2. Heheh. This family. Innocently bantering and bickering and innovating and… — I dare bet — inviting envy 😁

  3. Thank you so much for translating this, and such high quality translation too! I finally caught up and yes, the story is awesome, but I’m more amazed at your skill in translation. Kudos!

  4. I love many parts of this story…but lately I’m getting annoyed reading about Sun Yi Jia. I get it that from her perspective, the descriptives about how well LHY dotes on JW is necessary but, somehow I still find her irritating. I can’r find anything likeable about her.

    1. I kinda get it. It’s like the umpteenth time we’ve been told by Sun Yi Jia how amazing Jing Wan is and how Li Hong Yuan still needs to be better and more comparisons between Jing Wan and everything and yada yada.

It was fine the first few times but now it’s redundant, and unfortunately, we have to hear all of this from Sun Yi Jia instead of other characters, so Jia starts to look bad 🙁

That’s the only reason why I’m finding her annoying

    2. I kinda get it. I understand that his reputation is not pleasant but to be constantly badmouthing him has gotten annoying. Even Jing Wan the bride to be isn’t doing that yet she is constantly at it. I know she wants what’s best for Jing Wan but even with little expectations towards this marriage, even Jing Wan herself has some level of respect for LHY. Sun Yi Jia doesn’t really know much about LHY other than what she sees from the outside so it’s rather unfair of her to constantly badmouth him based on only surface knowledge of him.
