Gong Wangfei also knew her being this way would offend the others, but she was just discontent inside.
The rest all faintly looked to Jing Wan. How come just encountered one that didn’t act according to common sense like you, rather happily having the people sent off? This while although it wasn’t her voluntarily giving away, who didn’t know she was just pushing along the waves, getting rid of the people. This more or less will all leave behind an easily jealous reputation. Also on her husband’s side…………sigh, in the end, still one that hasn’t experienced anything, that’s why would make such a foolish mistake, doing such an unwise thing.
Their meaning, Jing Wan could roughly guess. However, she didn’t care all that much. Reputation and whatnot, those were all meaningless, so no need to care about. Moreover, when a man really cares for you, even if you shoulder this kind of reputation, so what? In fact, it all won’t become a burden, and no matter how many people one got criticized by, one was still happily willing. If the man doesn’t care, yet you care, then that was just reaping what one sows. There’s nothing good to say. That’s why, regardless of which aspect, it all won’t affect Jing Wan.
There were quite a few female entertainers raised in Jin Qinwang Manor. How many there were specifically, outsiders didn’t know.
Moreover, the one that proposed to ‘give them away’ at first was even Li Hong Yuan himself. Jing Wan didn’t believe he would do this kind of thing for no reason, he certainly must have his intentions. Jing Wan’s first guess was that he probably wants to plant spies, but last night, when Li Hong Yuan let her pick the people to send out, Jing Wan began to have doubts again. If it’s planting spies, shouldn’t he have long carried out the task, so why would he wait until now? Also, this method wasn’t too good either. All knew what the circumstances were currently, so the brothers sending people would definitely be guarded against. The ones that were sent out afraid would only be treated as the purest plaything.
Jing Wan truly couldn’t figure out what exactly he wanted to do.
And Li Hong Yuan just silently smiled. That appearance really was somewhat like looking for a beating.
Jing Wan was very aware of what kind of situation these people might have to face once sent out. That’s why, she went to meet with all the female entertainers, directly having the whole story told to them, based on the principle of self-willingness, and also promised, if they want to stay in Jin Qinwang Manor, as long as they know their place, then they won’t get a less bite to eat.
Jing Wan had good intentions, but a great majority of them thought too much instead, only believing that she, as the main wife, having entered the gates, finds them unpleasant to the eyes, that’s why she wants to think of ways to have them sorted out. They knew this was human nature, but there were still those that bitterly resented, and these people actually all more or less had some thoughts inside. Regardless how terrible Jin Qinwang’s reputation was, in their eyes, he was always handsome, wealthy, and residing high and above, always uncontrollably making their heart race.
Afterwards, it was just crying like raindrops on a pear blossom, vehemently vowing that they didn’t have the slightest improper thoughts towards wangye, begging wangfei to not have them sent out. Towards this kind of people that can’t seem to understand human words, Jing Wan felt very annoyed. And towards these female entertainers, Jing Wan more or less had an understanding of. Which ones have thoughts, she also for the most part figured out. Originally, even if you have thoughts, as long as it doesn’t come out, who would care what you’re thinking inside. No matter how good-tempered she was, there was still a limit. Li Hong Yuan was attentive towards her, so naturally she can’t have the person pushed out. Since they jumped out themselves, then naturally don’t blame her for not showing face.
After explaining clearly, she naturally just brushed her sleeves and left. Who had the patience to bicker with you all?
Just, Jing Wan didn’t know that as soon as she left, Eunuch Mu just brought people in immediately after her, having that female entertainer that threw the fiercest tantrum stuffed in the mouth and directly dragged out. The rest, not a single one wasn’t keeping quiet out of fear.
Eunuch Mu coldly smiled, “Wangfei is benevolent, thus gave you all the opportunity to choose on your own. If switched with others, even if all beaten to death with the rod, it’s also just you all having lowly lives. Stay or leave, just this simple, yet you all insist on causing trouble.”
Eunuch Mu was Jin Qinwang’s trusted aide. Without his instructions, Eunuch Mu absolutely won’t do this kind of thing. It was clear, this matter, Jin Qinwang not only knew, and moreover agreed on, he even completely stood on wangfei’s side. They were all nothing.
Killing the chicken to warn the monkey, it was nothing more than this.
Afterwards, each and every one all settled down, earnestly pondering over their going or staying. There were those that want to climb up, yet feel there was no prospects in Jin Qinwang Manor, so naturally chose to leave, leaving to fight for their future prospects. And there were also those that want to make a gamble, hoping Jing Wan really is benevolent, seeking the qinwang manor’s shelter, peacefully living out the remainder of their life, of course, not excluding those that still haven’t given up on Jin Qinwang.
The time right now was still early. These wangfeis were actually calculating inside. It was unlikely to have the people ‘pulled over’ to one’s side right now, so after admiring the scenery, and idly chatting, then wait until after the banquet, as long as no one mentions, perhaps they can just have this matter muddled through.

Unfortunately, their vision was beautiful, but to no avail, their husbands completely didn’t give support. On this side, as soon as the ‘decision’ was made, on the other side, Eunuch Mu just very ‘resentfully’ ratted out to his master.
Li Hong Yuan’s expression was indifferent, “It’s just giving away some people, since sister-in-law has already asked, can we not give? Learn a little from your wangfei, need to be magnanimous on all things, don’t be that petty. Just a few female entertainers, that’s all.”
“Master is right to lecture.” Eunuch Mu hurriedly begged for forgiveness.
This time, Li Hong Yuan’s image in the other brothers’ eyes did go down, but regardless of what they thought, no one voiced it out loud. Saying it was for their wangfei, but in reality, wasn’t it still for them? Aside from fifth wangye, each and every one were all quite covetous. Now that they have the opportunity to eat into the mouth, who would still refuse?
That’s why, the wangfeis’ calculations will inevitably fall through.
After admiring the dance and listening to the song, Jing Wan took them to stroll the gardens. Because she herself wasn’t very familiar either, it was Shi, Ci, Ge, and Fu, the four of them, serving at the side. Because they long knew wangfei was one that was knowledgable about flowers, in this aspect, they more or less somewhat dipped into. As such, when explaining to the other wangfeis, it was clear and logical, stringing together clever words.
From admiring the manor’s elaborate layout to afterwards, looking to Jing Wan again, that gaze also became peculiar.
Those without title or status were easy to get rid of, but what about these high-ranking servant girls that have been serving for several years?
Towards their seemingly sneering, seemingly taking pleasure at her misfortune look, Jing Wan pretended not to see.
These four servant girls were obedient to the point where it was practically a little weird. Never mind climbing on the bed, in these last few days after she married in, when a certain someone wasn’t present, they would all diligently serve before her, attentive and considerate with meticulous care, and even more meticulous than her own servant girls, making her servant girls suspect whether or not they will face the danger of losing their job. Yet, because they didn’t do as good as the other party, they didn’t dare to say anything. The two sides were going all out in ‘fighting for favor’ before her.
However, when a certain someone was present, Shi, Ci, Ge, Fu just hid as far away as they could, completely not like facing the master they’ve served for several years, but rather a plague god that they can’t wait to avoid. However, when needed, they would still gather before her. There were those one or two times, where a certain someone even had their names mixed up. This was the people that closely served at the side for several years? Only a ghost would believe.
The banquet feast was very luxurious. “Sigh, all say the things Jin Qinwang uses are even better than imperial father’s. Witnessing today, the reputation really wasn’t spread in vain.” Hearing these words, that vinegar water was all bubbling.
“If I have to say, it’s this chef’s skills that’s top quality. Sixth sister-in-law, how about having this chef lended to this sister-in-law to use?” Fifth wangfei smilingly said, seamlessly having Gong Wangfei’s words pressed back.
All know Le Cheng Emperor is good to Jin Qinwang, having all the good things given to this son first, but to say all things surpassed Le Cheng Emperor, that was definitely impossible. It was more accurate to say that most were equal. These things, it was just good to be well aware of inside. There was no purpose in unveiling.
“This won’t do, wangye’s mouth is picky. If fifth sister-in-law likes, just come over to eat at any time. In any case, I reckon, on normal days, I’ll mostly be idle. Just treat it as keeping me company.” Jing Wan said with a smile.
Fifth wangfei clapped her hands and smiled, “This is said by you, younger sister-in-law. When time comes, don’t say I’m clinging to your manor and not leaving.”
“Can’t ask for more.”
Fifth wangye was sickly, having no power, and no influence, usually an invisible person. No matter who he was close to, it all won’t get commented on.
“Fifth sister-in-law, don’t have such a destitute look. For better or worse, all imperial father’s sons. Don’t say it like you’re being mistreated.”
“Towards the wangyes, imperial father naturally treats everyone with equal favor.” Fifth wangfei neither saltily nor dully said.
Jing Wan’s eyes slightly lit up. In other words, this fifth sister-in-law seemingly also wasn’t that weak as rumored. Then again, it was most likely still forced by the circumstances.
However, her complexion appeared pretty good, so can be inferred that her days should be pretty good too.
Others all say she married a sickly person, so who knows when she’ll have to live as a widow. And from the day she married, her entire life was just ruined. In reality, fifth wangye’s rear court was even less than an ordinary minor official’s. Moreover, because of his body, he himself also felt sorry towards his own wangfei. As such, between the two of them, perhaps there wasn’t strong passion and sweet desire, yet they were still happy and harmonious. They perhaps don’t have have strong romantic love inside, yet they were like the closest family, mutually supporting one another the whole way.
Fifth wangfei possessed the tranquility that others didn’t have. Even if the Emperor was switched, their family also won’t have to worry about getting purged, and right now, they further didn’t need to sink into the battle for the throne, not needing to live in fear and trepidation all day, being both mentally and physically exhausted.
That’s why, whether or not the days were good, that was ‘like a person drinking water, whether it was cold or warm, only one would know’.
After the banquet, they wandered around the gardens again, then listened to some more plays.
Although Li Hong Yuan’s brothers, in the past, more or less all came to his manor before, the greater majority of this rear garden, they’ve all never visited before. Today, they’ve actually set foot in some areas that they’ve never came to in the past. ——————-Sure enough, it was still old six that knew how to enjoy himself the most.
Just as expected, while the wangfeis wanted to have that previous matter forgotten, their husbands however couldn’t wait. When leaving, if placed in the past, that was also very straightforward, yet this while, they dillydallied, wanting to say something, but hesitating.
Ultimately, it was Gong Qinwang that couldn’t hold back anymore, directly asking his wangfei, “Heard you previously asked for a few people from sixth sister-in-law. What kind of people are they, to have made wangfei care this much? Also let this prince see.”
Gong Wangfei was nearly angered to death. Exactly who is caring? Looking at him, she endlessly hated.
Ever since Gong Qinwang and the Left Commander-in-Chief drifted apart, when it came to women, he also no longer restrained himself, just short of directly telling his wangfei, your old man doesn’t even want to help me anymore, so for what reason should this prince still pamper you?
And no matter how insolent Gong Wangfei was, right now, she also didn’t dare to rashly sort out those vixens in the rear court.
“Oh this matter, I nearly forgot.” Jing Wan smilingly explained, “Someone come, go have the people called over, let all the sister-in-laws pick on their own.”
Seeing Jing Wan putting on an act, the old grudges and new hate all bubbled up. Gong Wangfei hated that she can’t strangle her to death.
T/N: Among all the brothers, I think LHY gets along best with fifth wangye, or at least his attitude towards fifth wangye is the most civil, but really for LHY, I just feel fifth wangye is the only one that doesn’t have ulterior motives or is condescending towards him despite being his older brother.

I have high hopes for fifth Wangfei now
Thanks for the chapter! 😘
It’s nice to know that he somewhat gets along with at least one of his brothers. I feel like this is rare in c-novels where political intrigue and game of thrones are the focal point. Also, JW gaining an extra friend is also good, especially if said friend is one of her zhoulis. Easier to get along if they’re equal in status with no conflict of interest.
