The incident this time, aside from Jing Wan, saving up the others still took a full four to six hours, mainly because the terrain was too dangerous. Even if people were lowered down on ropes to save them, it was still very difficult to find a place with a proper foothold. It was still thanks to the many monks of White Dragon Temple. They were able to go down steadily, and their strength was also sufficient, one fastening on to another. They can be said to have directly assembled a human ladder. If it was the other servants, before even going down, they would’ve already turned into limp shrimps.
Aside from this, Jing Wan’s horse carriage was situated at the outermost, wedged between two trees. The horses were entirely suspended in midair. By the time everyone that had been thrown out of the carriage were all rescued, that horse had already been hung to death. If it’d been just that, then it wouldn’t have been much. But, Yuan Qiao Qiao and Zhou Ying Shuang were still inside the horse carriage. After such a long time, quite a bit of the tree roots were dug out from the dirt, tottering along with the horse carriage. The two of them both withdrew to the furthest back of the carriage as much as possible, both hands firmly gripping onto the window. Despite blood seeping out from their fingernails, with their fingers having long gone numb, and their consciousness more and more muddled, they still didn’t dare to carelessly move. Fearing that with a single misstep, they’ll fall down. It was hard to say just what had made them preserve for this long.
As such, they couldn’t just directly sever the horse harness. Jing Wan was still at the bottom, and they didn’t know her specific whereabouts. Letting the horse just fall down like that, what if falls onto her? Someone wanted to say, ‘since it’s already confirmed that she’s fallen to the riverbank at the very bottom, how can she still possibly be alive?’ But after seeing that tense face of Luo Old Madam’s, they didn’t dare to say it out loud. In the beginning, someone had merely just mumbled a few words, but it still got heard by Luo Old Madam who was very far away. Luo Old Madam looked to the amicable old woman with an ominous glint in her eyes, practically wanting to have the person devoured whole. Furthermore, it definitely wasn’t just Luo Old Madam that cared about Jing Wan’s safety. Even the most obedient kitten at this time would also flash out its sharpest claws. Anyone who dares to say another word will mostly not end well.
Even if White Dragon Temple had already dispatched monks together with the Luo family servant to descend the mountain to look for Jing Wan, and even if the others have all been recused, Luo Old Madam still stood at the cliff’s edge, unwilling to leave.
Gong mama tried to console Luo Old Madam as much as possible, telling her that fortunate people have the heaven’s blessing, and won’t have any mishap. But these kinds of words, at the moment, were very empty and hollow.
Someone as strict as Gong mama, who wouldn’t even silently curse at others in her mind, at this very moment, while standing beside Luo Old Madam, was instead violently cursing Li Hong Yuan in her head, that bastard thing who has always did whatever came to mind, never considering other people’s feelings. In that moment, Gong mama even had the impulse to tell everything to Jing Wan, let her properly witness his true colors.
Eventually, it was still the slowly arrived Grandmaster Liao Chen, who personally expressed to Luo Old Madam that Luo third miss’s life was without worry.
If others say that Jing Wan no longer had the possibility of returning alive, Luo Old Madan would refuse to believe with eyes reddened from anger. But when Grandmaster Liao Chen said this, she also still had doubts. Actually, deep in her heart, she also faintly felt that her most beloved granddaughter was gone. After all, that high of a cliff, how great of a luck did she need to have to be able to escape from death? Because of this reasoning, she even doubted Grandmaster Liao Chen’s words.
“Amitabha Buddha.” Grandmaster Liao Chen prayed, “In old madam’s fate, there isn’t the sign of seeing one’s child dying before oneself. Thus, old madam can rest assured.” This in a way was covertly telling Luo Old Madam’s fortune. Every year Grandmaster Liao Chen told three fortunes. Actually, he has already used up two. In the haze, he felt that the third fated person was about to appear, but in order to console Luo Old Madam, he was not the least stingy. That’s why, having fate, for Grandmaster Liao Chen, wasn’t aways a must. In the end, he ultimately harbored a benevolent heart, and not unable to be flexible.
Luo Old Madam blanked, finally recalling Grandmaster Liao Chen’s fame. For decades, his assertions have never been wrong. Thus, she finally let out a pleasantly surprised look, “Many thanks Grandmaster, many thanks Grandmaster.” If nothing else, she definitely need to give White Dragon Temple a generous amount of incense money.
The others, upon hearing this, also relaxed a breath. As for whether or not she’ll be severely injured? When humans reach a desperate situation, as long as they are given the tiniest bit of comfort, it was enough. At this time, their thoughts were practically the same as Jing Wan’s—–as long as alive, there is hope. If there really were any mishaps, then it’s not like the Luo family can’t raise her for her whole life.
Fu Yun Ting was probably the only one among the people fallen that didn’t even get a scratch. Previously, he had been helping in rescuing people. Now, he finally relaxed his tightly clenched fist, his guilt also lightened a bit. Inside his heart, he’d actually been blaming himself the whole time. If not for him, perhaps Luo third miss wouldn’t have…..
Speaking of the most regretful, the most heartbroken was still Sun Yi Lin. The situation of the girl he had in his heart was unclear, and his own little sister was seriously injured, still unconscious. And most importantly, she’d injured her face. Such a deep and long cut, from below the earlobe to near the corner of the mouth. If it was any longer, and any deeper, it would have directly tore open the mouth. How terrifying would that be. Regardless how good of medicine, all was impossible to let her return to before. Even only hoping for her face to be able to be a bit smoother was very difficult. His little sister can be considered to be thoroughly ruined!
How important a woman’s appearance was, he didn’t need to say, especially being born in a family like theirs. Younger sister’s marriage still haven’t been settle. Without that face, then her marriage value was gone. He knew without a doubt that his father would unhesitantly abandon his younger sister, and elevate a shu born younger sister. A woman that has fallen from the high clouds into the mud would only receive more intense mocking, ridicule, humiliation, and be trampled on. Furthermore, those shu sisters of his have always been at odds with his younger sister, resenting her out of jealousy. If they were to obtain the advantage, he simply didn’t dare to even imagine his younger sister’s demise!
Jing Wan being alive naturally was the good fortune among the misfortune, however this matter was still far from over.
Sun Yi Jia, as the Ding Duke’s only di daughter, and Ruan Fang Fei as the Head Cabinet Minister’s beloved youngest di daughter, originally both were of unmarried status, their nobility status far surpass themselves. Sun Yi Jia, because of her disfiguration, immediately turned from a precious treasure into rubble, and even a shattered rubble. What Ruan Rui Zhong will do, we won’t say for now, but the Ding Duke will undoubtedly demand for justice.
The so called ‘demanding for justice’, to put it more bluntly, was just wanting benefits. And of the people involved in this matter, the one that could let Ding Duke obtain the greatest benefits from, aside from Ruan Rui Zhong, was Grandmaster Liao Chen. The former was difficult to deal with, furthermore his daughter similarly had suffered. In addition, the accident wasn’t caused by Ruan Fang Fei either. To want to extract an advantage from him was very difficult. As for the latter, Grandmaster Liao Chen further possessed value. If he can get in exchange a chance for Grandmaster Liao Chen ‘to alter fate’, never mind sacrificing one daughter, even if he threw in all his daughters, he still wouldn’t bat an eye.

What kind of person Grandmaster Liao Chen was, everyone all knew. Reasonable to say, for such a major incident to have occurred, he should have been the first to appear. For him to have arrived late can only mean that he had other priorities. However, the monks of White Dragon Temple didn’t delay in rescuing because of this, so naturally no one could criticize him. And as for that wild beast, just because it appeared on White Dragon Temple’s territory, one can’t just have the crime of ‘lacking discipline’ forcibly pinned on his head either. Everyone all didn’t know that actually, on this mountain, an even more severe incident also took place.
Luo Old Madam and the others fretfully waited for Jing Wan’s return. Immediately after the incident had occurred, every family had already, using the fastest speed, sent the news back to the capital.

ML isn’t responsible for the accident tho, even he’s pissed JW fell off a cliff——
When I read disfigurement, I was like man why are these ancient people so intense… It’s just a scratch on the neck… Oh no Sun-chan! I honestly have red eyes… I loved her so much. And shitty dads are acting or will act shitty. ML is ruining lives, I hope he makes it up to her! Nothing to be enjoyed in this chapter save for Old Luo and her super earing Hahaha. Talk about scary. I’m so happy she cares so much for MC. It’s heartwarming to read. Especially in the wake of men sacrificing or abandoning their daughters…
