They watched Li Hong Yuan’s departing figure, even carrying a bit of leisure, while Gong Qinwang stood in the same spot trying to restrain his anger with all his might. His eyes were blood red, as if about to explode from his eye sockets, remarkably like a furious beast. Clearly the enemy was just ahead, yet there was an invisible cage having one ruthlessly bounded, unable to take one step out.

All the way until Li Hong Yuan’s figure disappeared, Gong Qinwang was still unable to return to his sense for a long time.

At this very moment, even Kang Qinwang and Rui Qinwang, seeing this fourth younger brother, both felt he was somewhat pitiful. However, they similarly have suffered at that living Enma’s hands before, so they weren’t able to sympathized. Just, what exactly happened on the female guest side, need to go ask clearly, better not let one’s own family also make the same mistake. Otherwise, when time comes, the one to suffer will be oneself. The women of the back manor made him lose face, but it was inappropriate for him, a grown man, to go bicker with them. After all, no matter how much of a bastard he was, this bit of manner, he still needed. Then, it was to just have their men come shoulder the responsibility. He may be this brazen and bold, but if replaced with anyone else, they would also be the exact same way, just they wouldn’t be able to go as far as Li Hong Yuan, unable to vent their anger like him——Standing in Li Hong Yuan’s position was indeed a very refreshing thing.

The things that happened on this side naturally spread to Gong Wangfei’s ears first thing. Her own wangye getting ruthlessly humiliated, and her three brothers got kicked till they vomited blood. Everything went black before her eyes, and she nearly fainted. And then, when she heard the reason, it’s not like she was stupid, how could she not make the connections. Looking again to Jing Wan, her gaze were like dipped in poison, but her lips trembled, unable to utter a single word. Among her sister-in-laws, Gong Wangfei lived the most unrestrained, and didn’t need schemes and tricks the most, so in this aspect, comparatively speaking, she naturally was weaker. But this didn’t mean she was someone like Luo Jing Ying, that kind of person, completely lacking self-awareness. If she were to carelessly blurt out anything unpleasant again, perhaps that living Enma will have the debt marked on her husband’s and her maiden family’s head again. This aftermath definitely wasn’t something she can shoulder. The so called ‘trouble arises from the mouth’, probably was just this.

Jing Wan rather was unable to make sense of Gong Wangfei’s glare. This was having some life or death great grudge?

Eunuch Mu happily and diligently walked before Jing Wan, “Third miss…….” He unconsciously carried a bit of flattery and fawning.

Jing Wan slightly retreated a step. The people by Jin Qinwang’s side were seemingly a bit terrifying. “Greetings eunuch, don’t know what’s the matter?” En, her future husband’s head steward, it was best not to offend.

Seeing Jing Wan bow to him, Eunuch Mu hurriedly dodged, even if he had nine lives and nine guts, he still wouldn’t dare accept. However, at the same time, he also realized he’d gone a bit overboard. It was true that Luo third miss was the person at the tip of master’s heart, but she herself didn’t know. If he were to behave too conspicuous, failing to curry favor, instead frightening her, when he goes back, he probably can prepared to go die. Thus, he quickly corrected himself, “Third miss is cutting short this servant’s longevity. Master let this servant come inform miss, miss can go back with your family.” Since she wasn’t happy staying here, she naturally didn’t need to continue staying.

Then, this means that Gong Wangfei’s change in expression should have something to do with Jin Qinwang. Since he already said to let her go back, she couldn’t wish for it more. In any case, if not for getting blocked, she would’ve already left. Thus she nodded her head, and then bowed to all the noble personages present. She didn’t need to call for her family either. Just now, when Jing Wan was preparing to leave, they’d already all stood up. Jing Wan looked towards Luo Old Madam, and seamlessly nodded.

Afterwards, under the watchful gaze of numerous eyes, the Luo family, with Luo Old Madam in the lead, all just proudly left.

And the servants of the Gong Qinwang Manor, without their master’s order, naturally didn’t dare to block again.

All the old madams, matriarchs of the household, and also a crowd of noble madams, not a single didn’t look to one another in dismay. Jing Wan leaving, that was just being full of youthful vigor, unable to bear feeling wronged, having a bit of temper, but Luo Old Madam actually didn’t say a single word, and when her granddaughter said to leave, she also just led everyone out?! Shouldn’t the correct method be lecturing one’s child, smooth things over, giving everyone a platform to step down, and afterwards, everyone will still all be ‘polite and amicable’?

Even if Luo Pei Shan was a high official of the imperial court, but for the Luo family to offend an actual power holding wangye, this was still very unwise. Luo Old Madam shouldn’t be someone this short-sighted. All the rumors say, she very much adored Luo third miss, and seeing that attitude, this really was not at all false. She can’t tolerate her suffering the slightest grievance, going so far as to not have principles, even disregarding the Luo family.

Everyone were all smart people. Seeing Gong Wangfei’s attitude, as well as the number one personal attendant by Jin Qinwang’s side appear, they immediately sent people to go make inquires, and afterwards, very quickly received news. After all, the uproar up front was that big, they couldn’t conceal it even if they wanted to. With the living Enma involved, everyone all shut their mouths. This ancestor, no one could afford to offend.

“Grandmaster Liao Chen’s fortune-telling stated, Jin Qinwang and Luo third miss were a match made in heaven. Her highness, Noble Consort, in the palace already issued word, Jin Qinwang doesn’t curse wives, but rather his predestined marriage has yet to arrive. His Majesty also highly regards this marriage, and Jin Qinwang’s protectiveness towards Luo third miss, regardless whether it’s because if he misses this wife, there won’t be a next one, or really because he lost face, all in all, the Luo third miss who’s connected to Jin Qinwang’s fate, one can’t afford to offend either.” A certain noble madam faintly spoke.

When the people nearby heard, they all nodded in agreement, deeply believing this to be the case. Luo third miss appears to be a gentle and amicable person, but if one really offends her, that is also a stubborn one. With protective grandparents, the Grand Elder Princess’s backing, in addition to a living Enma, that really is whoever offends, whoever is out of luck. Never mind oneself, if one’s family also gets implicated, then one’s just a great sinner.

Didn’t you see the Left Commander-in-Chief’s Madam just now tearfully going to see her sons? Getting kicked until one vomited blood, one mishap, one might leave behind a lifetime of complications. When Jin Qinwang left, he seemingly even said to let the Left Commander-in-Chief come to him to ask for forgiveness. Tsk, who knew things would be like this.

Then looking again to Gong Wangfei, a perfectly fine birthday banquet turned into such an unsightly state. However, ones that pitied her were actually still in the minority. Even more people were taking pleasure at her misfortune. Mainly it was because she was too ostentatious on normal days. When other people’s husbands would take in concubines, she would instead flaunt how good her own wangye husband was to her and how much he cares about her. When other family’s yiniang concubines stirred up trouble, she would ‘lament’ that Gong Qinwang Manor was too quiet and peaceful. Only when everyone was the same would the heart feel balanced inside. But if when the other person’s foot ached, you even ruthlessly stepped on it, then how would you not incur hate. As a result, getting ruthlessly sorted out today, losing all face, serves her right——–

That’s why, one needed to be low-key in conduct. Even if one lived well, just be happy by yourself behind close doors. It’s not like everyone can be the same as Jin Qinwang, casually pulling in hate, and not worry about getting retaliated against one day. However, retaliating against Jin Qinwang perhaps was just a matter of time. That’s why, thinking of it like so, Jin Qinwang perhaps was just enjoying the present?

On the way out, because the masters didn’t give order, the servants also didn’t prepare soft sedans, so the party went out on foot. Jing Wan and them also heard about what Li Hong Yuan did.

Even Sun Yi Jia, who has an extremely terrible opinion of Li Hong Yuan, all fell silent. Regardless of what reason he stemmed from, it was definitely quite satisfying. From now on, whoever dares to trouble little sister Wan will all have to reconsider.

Rather, it was Jing Wan who appeared very quiet. Jin Qinwang’s behavior and conduct repeatedly surpassed her expectations.

As for Luo Old Madam, she patted Jing Wan’s hand, “Silly girl, don’t think that much, this is the so called ‘one’s glory is everyone’s glory, and one’s loss is everyone’s loss’. You and Jin Qinwang have an engagement on hand. Gong Wangfei humiliating you, that is no different from humiliating him.”

This was Jin Qinwang’s explanation, and also for the most part, what everyone all believed. For Luo Old Madam to emphasize this again at this time, Jing Wan instead felt there was another deeper meaning. To let someone not think too much, but as people, all have that bit of ‘rebellious’ mind, and would subconsciously think more. If Jin Qinwang didn’t do it for this reason, then it can only be because of———-her? Alright, as expected, she shouldn’t have thought too much.

Thus, Jing Wan unhesitantly had this question thrown aside.

  1. The only thing that kinda bothers me is how she keeps selectively forgetting all of her interactions with ML. Even her theory she doesn’t ponder on. Before it was normal cuz they were unrelated ultimately but now she’s his fiancé and should at least want to understand this irrational person that she herself feels isn’t too bad from her experience. This little bit feel somewhat forced. It’s again the not experienced in love scenario or being clueless to a fault (I just expect more from JW so yes for me it’s to a fault even if for someone else I would let it pass)

    1. It’s more really how she tries not to think too deeply on a problem she’s stuck on because without all the right information/clues, no matter how much you think it’s all useless, like she chooses not to be fixated on a problem that it’s impossible for her to find the real answer to. After all no matter what she thinks of, there’s no way for her to confirm her guesses. The opposite side would be a character that constantly thinks too much and ends up with a bunch of assumptions.

  2. Hahahah… Jing Wan looked like if she even dared to think that Jin Qinwang liked her, she’d be having an allergic reaction 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
