“What’s wrong? Is there something special about these things?” Yuan Qiao Qiao moved closer and asked.

“Nothing, just saw that they were quite unique.” Sun Yi Jia faintly smiled.

Secretly swapping the things the Empress bestowed, such great disrespect, even if one knew, it’s still better to pretend to not know. And even if leaked out in the end, wasn’t there still the main culprit to shoulder it, so what would it have to do with the Luo family.

According to Sun Yi Jia’s understanding towards that paternal aunt of hers, her level of endurance towards Jin Qinwang was beyond normal, even capable of abandoning her dignity as the Empress. And it’s probably because she’s able to silently endure to this degree, that’s why Jin Qinwang never troubled her much. After all, for better or worse, she was still the Empress, such ‘compromise’, if too much, it indeed wasn’t good to handle.

Often times, Sun Yi Jia very much admired this paternal aunt, but clearly the most noble woman in the world, yet towards the shu son in name, needed to repeatedly yield to. Even if a plan of convenience, advancing by retreating in order to preserve oneself, never mind being sullen, it would even make others feel you’re cowardly and easy to bully. Of course, the others of the imperial harem really were unable to bully her. The one to make her compromise and concede to was just that one. Besides, the times she’s crossed swords with Jin Qinwang were very few, and the ones who knew, were also very very few, but even so, so what?

After Jing Wan meticulously dressed up, even Sun Yi Jia felt inferior. Such a delicate and tender white cabbage, how come just got dug up by the pig outside?

Leaving Elegant Haitang Residence, Jing Wan as today’s lead role, naturally needed to go entertain the guests.

And just now, Luo Old Madam had already sent someone to inform them, directly heading to the western garden. Everyone had all gone over there to watch the play.

At the western garden entrance, Jing Wan saw the listless Gu younger sister. Jing Wan’s first reaction was just, yo, this life is quite sturdy, didn’t die huh. At the time, the manor doctor had said, she might not be able to make it. And in the end, having the person thrown to the estate, without someone meticulously serving, she actually tenaciously survived.

As long as she was still alive, Jing Wan rather wasn’t all that surprised to see her appear here. Her maternal aunt and uncle-in-law were still considered perceptive, moving out on their own. Then, as long as they still haven’t thoroughly torn the face, her coming-of-age ceremony, for them to come as guests, it was all reasonable.

When she saw Jing Wan, Gu younger sister’s eyes filled with deep-rooted hatred. However, she very quickly retracted her gaze again, even properly greeting Jing Wan, lowering her head and standing to the side. It was very obvious, this was letting Jing Wan enter first.

Reasonably speaking, Gu younger sister was an elder. Since Jing Wan hasn’t married, even if a young miss of an official family, that is still without a rank. When not discussing status, one naturally needed to pay attention to the position in the family hierarchy and seniority. In the end, did she really not understand the rules, or deliberately being like this?

Even Sun Yi Jia, when looking to her, all carried a cold stern look in her eyes.

Jing Wan felt very speechless. It was you that wanted to move close to that man’s side. Getting sorted out by him, you instead start hating me? Aren’t the roles reversed, shouldn’t I be the one that’s angry?

“How come Wan Wan is standing at the entrance?”

“Greetings wangye.” The party quickly greeted.

“You’re all excused. ——–Who’s this?” Li Hong Yuan’s gaze landed on Gu younger sister. Obviously it was because of her that everyone was crowded at the entrance.

Jing Wan was astonished, “Wangye doesn’t recognize?”

Li Hong Yuan raised a brow, “Should this prince recognize?”

Jing Wan thought for a moment. This one at the time not seeing her appearance clearly, or perhaps just simply not remembering after one meeting seemingly were all reasonable. “No.” Jing Wan shot a glance at Gu younger sister, her body trembling. Then again, the person that one wanted to pursue, even nearly asking for one’s life, not having the slightest impression of oneself, this blow, really was big.

“Let’s go in.” Li Hong Yuan stepped into the western garden ahead of them.

Jing Wan entered a step after him.

And Sun Yi Jia and them also deliberately slowed their pace. Regarding this Gu younger sister’s ‘glorious deed’, Sun Yi Jia wasn’t able to personally witness, yet she’d heard her own husband mention before. The other two were further eyewitnesses. They were all di born young ladies. At home, they’ve seen plenty of those disgusting yiniangs of their fathers. As such, towards Gu younger sister, this kind of person, they bitterly detested.

“Ying Shuang, say, how come there’s this many lowly wretches in this world. If it’s the man womanizing, then so be it, but there’s even shameless girls throwing themselves forward, encouraging those men’s arrogance, becoming increasingly unbridled, practically just…………..”

Zhou Ying Shuang covered her mouth, “You’re becoming more and more outrageous, daring to say anything. Who doesn’t know that Jin Qinwang is now wholeheartedly set on Jing Wan. Moreover, he has never been interested those that voluntarily throw themselves forward.”

Yuan Qiao Qiao pulled apart her hand, saying with a smile, “You’re right, the living Enma’s title isn’t said in vain. Those that manage to survive by luck once, yet still insensitively want to go forward again, probably need to tell their family in advance to remember to claim the body at the random corpse pit.”

“What use is there telling the family, Jin Qinwang likes to treat those associated with the offender as guilty.”

“Alright, don’t say these unlucky things, quickly go in.” Sun Yi Jia urged.

The two of them finally recalled, seemingly towards a pregnant person, don’t say these dirty things to taint the ear. Apologetically smiling, they coiled around Sun Yi Jia’s right and left arm, walking into the western garden. From far away, they already could hear the singing voices of the play.

Going around the cluster of flower bushes, they saw the stage.

Jin Qinwang was still speaking with Jing Wan, not having the slightest intention of going to the male guest side to properly sit down and watch the play. That’s why, a certain someone’s purpose in coming here, it was very obvious, ‘the wine-lover’s heart not on the wine’. Fortunately, although the two were leaning close together, Jin Qinwang still had a bit of a gentleman’s bearing. Probably because a certain someone’s reputation was truly too rotten, even if just walking a little close, Jing Wan was still being ‘coerced’ and was the ‘victim’. In this society that has always been harsh towards women, no one actually criticized Jing Wan of anything, and when seeing, it was also just turning a blind eye.

Jing Wan gradually realized this bit, her expression serene as she looked to Li Hong Yuan, “Wangye is being deliberate, right?”

Li Hong Yuan rather puzzlingly looked to Jing Wan, “What?”

Pretend, just continue pretending with all your might, “Nothing.”

Li Hong Yuan lightly smiled. He has been secretly stepping on his old man’s bottom line step by step, to the extent where now, towards him, it can be considered absolute indulgence, so he similarly can imperceptibly step on everyone’s perception. Of course, he’s never planned on doing anything in front of others. He only needs to not let her suffer criticism when standing together with him, just this simple. That’s why, it didn’t need to be like the former, spending more than ten years to achieve. Moreover, from the looks of it, it seems he’s already about to achieve this.

At the imperial summer residence, Sun Yi Jia has already witnessed the ‘lovey-dovey’ atmosphere between them, so at this time, she just inwardly rolled her eyes, pulling the unaware Yuan Qiao Qiao and Zhou Ying Shuang away.

The Grand Elder Princess held the booklet, choosing a play. It has already finished performing. Then, she allowed a wangfei in her generation to chose a play. It has also finished performing. After mutually declining modestly, the Ding Duke Manor’s Sun Old Madam also chose one, and it similarly finished performing…………

Afterwards, these old things stopped relying on their old age to show off, letting the ones in the younger generation pick what they like.

However, speaking of which, “Luo Old Madam, where did you invite this acting troupe from? Their performance is really not bad.”

“Indeed, the people of the troupe, not a single one looks familiar, performing this well, there’s no reason to not have any fame at all?”

“They were sent over by Jin Qinwang, should be the acting troupe wangye raises in the manor.” Luo Old Madam didn’t avoid out of taboo either, bluntly stating the truth.

Everyone all fell silent. Originally, they were still thinking of next time, when there’s the chance, to also invite them back to perform in their own home, but great, they were the living Enma’s, don’t bother thinking anymore. Casting a glance at the lead singer on stage, the figure graceful, the voice mellow, and the face pretty, just this kind, there seemingly were several ones. In many people’s eyes, singers were no different from those prostitutes, lowly things that can’t be brought onto the surface. Otherwise, it was just vixens, raising this many………..

For Jin Qinwang to specially send them over today, in the end, was it highly regarding Luo third miss, or specifically coming to slap the face?

T/N: I decided to somewhat redo the timeline, mostly to make it neater and better looking, add some drawings, because I saw a particular review and I couldn’t stop thinking about the confusion it might cause. Last time when I made it I was sorta in a rush. SO TO THE PERSON THAT SAID JING WAN REINCARNATED THREE TIMES, NO SHE DID NOT REINCARNATE THREE TIMES. She reincarnated ONCE, ONE TIME, to Qi Yuan from the modern world, treat the modern world as a completely different world, time isn’t just linear, the history of the world Jing Wan came from is completely different from Qi Yuan’s. How the fuk did you even get three??? ML’s two timelines are like parallel worlds that split from the point he returned back to. Everything that happened before the SPLIT IN TIMELINE STAYS THE SAME. JUST IMAGINE EVERY CURVY ARROW IN COLOR IS A REINCARNATION/REBIRTH/WHATEVER THE FUKING SHIT YOU WANT TO CALL IT

To say Jing Wan also reincarnated again when LHY WENT BACK IN TIME is like saying Le Cheng Emperor reincarnated too, cuz there’s also a Le Cheng Emperor in ML’s first life, but the current Le Cheng Emperor doesn’t have memories of LHY’s first life either?? DO YOU SEE WHAT I’M GETTING AT??? I swear I want to slam my head into a wall at this point. I hope this is the last time I’ll ever have to bring this up———;;;v;;;)

  1. I will (wait, maybe should I not?) apologize first because I’m going to be arrogant here.
I thought it was really clear from the novel about the main characters’ rebirth, reincarnation, crossover or whatever name it is. Jen’s first drawing only confirmed it. How come this misunderstanding? Whoa.
I even start to suspect that those who misunderstood, might have treated all the footnotes, notes, drawings, and links as ads, thus just needed to ignore? *author’s saltiness has started to get to me

    Oh dear.

Jen, I know it’s a picture of you crying, but it’s still lovely (do I sound like a bully? ๐Ÿ˜ฑ)
Maybe I just love your drawings. I haven’t changed my wallpaper since you mailed me the picture of Wangye & Wanwan ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿ˜˜

  2. …..I’ve been infected by LHY. I read your rant and saw the crying drawing, and the first thought that flew in my head is “cute”

  3. Thanks for the new drawing – it’s always nice to be spoiled by the translator. Maybe that will be the name of my first novel – “Spoiled Miss in my first life.”

  4. Wait… did Zang-shi become a pregnant monk? J/K.

I swear, your illustrations are adorable and if you’re juggling like 50+ novels at the same time I can get how a more complex one like this novel can get jumbled… Tho, in my case it just makes me have illusions that LHY is just cultivating some horrible face flaying technique.

    1. I canโ€™t be bothered to draw hair ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ฉlmaooo

I honestly only have a problem when people decide to post wrong information like they are explaining to others, it will just mislead other people. Even when I answer questions about the novel, Iโ€™m not always 100% sure, so I always go back to check and reread to make sure Iโ€™m giving people the right information.

  5. Thank you for the updated timeline tho this shouldn’t have been necessary if only fellow readers comprehend more… Don’t frustrate yourself with others shortcomings and focus more on the majority who appreciates the story and truly understand your effort…

  6. I don’t understand how the other timeline was misunderstood? Like it seems perfectly clear to me.
    P.s your drawings are cute.

  7. Do I sense the coming of Jen’s personally illustrated version of the whole novel?!

  8. Jen-sama, do you have an instagram account or some art account because your drawings are all so cute >w<

    1. Thanks ahahha I have some stuff on my twitter and old DA acc, but I haven’t drawn seriously in a few years tho so mostly only old art from 2-3 years ago

      1. Aww… Well let us know if you do post new art or create an art account pretty please? We will support you XD (Unfortunately, I rarely use DA now because the new interface is…. well…)

        1. DA’s UI is like dead to me lmaooo
Maybe if I have time sometime in the future I’ll draw something for this novel, I’ve always planned to but never had the time.

  9. your drawings in the timeline are quite hillarious jen, and dont worry we are not that stupid

  10. Cute drawings. ๐Ÿ˜

Seriously just ignore those negative vibes. It seems a lot of people’s brains went offline for a long time thus the idiotic ideas they usually get. ๐Ÿคฃ

    1. ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ฉ But I don’t want the stupid to spread

      1. It’s not, sadly, curable yet. The only thing we can do is to ignore them to avoid fanning their stupidity.
You should see some of the stuffs I deal with community management in Facebook. I am currently managing groups from 2 reading apps, and you’ll never know how stupid people are when it comes to reading what they are currently reading. ๐Ÿคฃ
