And among them, there was that one scene. Jing Wan although couldn’t hear, but for the most part, she was able to guess, the ‘reinforcement solider’ being acquainted with the ‘bandit’, even the kind that were good brothers, the bandit masked, and the soldier in uniform. At first, perhaps because of the confusion, the soldier didn’t recognize the bandit, but the bandit recognized the other party at a glance. The bandit because was shocked, and further because of knowing the other party, subconsciously retreated, just this one retreat caused the soldier to excitedly charge forward instead, relentlessly stabbing the sword over. One has to know, the matter this time was an extremely rare opportunity. Every single person all had a share of contribution. When there was no war, for little soldiers like them, wanting to be promoted to a higher position was for the most part impossible. The opportunity this time many people will fight over.

The bandit perhaps never once thought that it would be like this, his eyes suddenly bursting open, and at the same time, cried out. The soldier seemed to have finally realized something, and within two breaths, his pupils suddenly shrunk. From confusion, to suspicion, to disbelief, then to shuddering in fear, “No——” He held onto the bandit’s tottering body.

This probably was the only word Jing Wan could make out, but that heart-wrenching feeling, even if unable to hear the voice, one still clearly sensed. Jing Wan’s body couldn’t help but lightly tremble.

Li Hong Yuan knew, Jing Wan probably saw something very shocking. No longer having the slightest hesitation, he took the telescope from her. This time, Jing Wan didn’t cling on either. Li Hong Yuan swept a glance over the place where Jing Wan was looking just now with the telescope. What Jing Wan was able to guess, he naturally could also guess.

Compared to the enormous stirring of emotions Jing Wan felt, Li Hong Yuan’s mood clearly didn’t have the slightest turbulence. Just, for this kind of thing, he also didn’t know how to comfort her. When unable to sympathize, some words, if said, would be too empty, and perhaps would even cause the opposite effect. As such, it was better to not say anything, just tightly having her taken into his arms.

Li Hong Yuan took another glance, suddenly feeling a bit glad that Jing Wan didn’t continue looking, because if she saw, afraid she would further be unable to bear.

Everything was all because as that soldier held the bandit, his lips trembling, before he could say a few words, the pain on his face yet to vanish in the slightest, he just got forcibly pulled apart by another person. At a glance, one could tell, that should be his superior. He just said one line, yet that little soldier looked as if he was about to crumble. His superior unhesitantly drew the sword, letting that bandit collapse on the ground, even kicking the little soldier, urging him to quickly leave. That was just a bandit, a real bandit, not having the slightest relation with them.

The bandit collapsed onto the ground, his eyes wide like copper bells, unable to die in peace!

———-Do you want to get everyone killed?

Indeed, if these bandits’ identity were to get exposed, when time comes, the people that will die certainly will end up piling into a mountain.

Jing Wan knew, under a feudalistic dynasty, the people in power viewed the people of the lower class as weed. Living or killing, giving or seizing, that was just a matter of opening and closing the mouth. The so called ‘if a prince breaks the law, the same guilt as a commoner’, that was practically just a joke within a joke. But, she nevertheless for the first time vividly experienced this kind of bloodiness and cruelty.

“The heavenly son once angered, millions of corpses afloat, definitely isn’t just exaggerated words.” Li Hong Yuan stated as if murmuring.

Jing Wan knew the meaning of his words, but her heart still couldn’t relax in the slightest.

Meanwhile, Inspector General Su, with a fearful look, found ‘Jin Qinwang’ and ‘Jin Wangfei’. ‘Jin Wangfei’ was unconsciously leaning on ‘Jin Qinwang’, while ‘Jin Qinwang’ had his hair down, just wearing his middle garments. The originally snow white clothes, this while, were full of black ash, and that body of malevolent air, one was able to sense from far away. Inspector General Su’s heart also couldn’t help but jump, not daring to approach, kneeling down and begging for forgiveness at a distance. Behind him were the other other few officials.

“Atone for your crimes? This kind of thing, as an Inspector General, when did it become your place to question?” ‘Jin Qinwang’s’ voice was cold like icicles.

Don’t know if it was because this person imitated too closely, or because they were separated by a relatively far distance, Inspector General Su didn’t have any suspicions towards his identity. This while, tremblingly opening his mouth, “Wangye, as you are aware, the Dragon Boat Festival during the day, having you and wangfei present, this was a hard to come by big joyous event. We were all happy, so, so drank a few, a few more cups. This subject, because one’s body wasn’t good these last two days, thus overstepped one’s authority. It’s this subject’s fault, but fortunately, wangye and wangfei are in good health, otherwise we all truly cannot escape the blame even with a thousand deaths.”

Having not received a response in a long time, Inspector General Su’s palm was also somewhat sweaty. Even if knowing that Jin Qinwang should be out of the ordinary, but how can he guarantee that the Jin Qinwang on the surface wasn’t also a real part of him. Encountering this kind of individual that didn’t act according to common sense, no matter how resourceful he was, it was all possible to fall head first. When one’s life was gone, then everything was all gone.

But, he couldn’t not come. If Jin Qinwang really is as he predicted that way, to want to let him lose his life here, the possibility wasn’t big. Once he escapes this predicament, turning around to settle the score, he absolutely won’t be able to escape from the responsibility either. That’s why, he couldn’t not gamble, and moreover, if he wins, there will be great benefits.

Looking at it presently, he at least gambled half-right. Even if he didn’t bring people over, tonight’s matter wouldn’t have succeeded either. In the vast Kaiming Fu, if no one takes the slightest action, thinking of that aftermath…………..

‘Jin Qinwang’ naturally knew a certain few were all drunk. If one doesn’t find an excuse, how can they escape from tonight’s matter. However, according to master’s temper, think that by avoiding, one can just be safe? Just wait, even if master is at the ends of the earth, to want to sort you all out, that is also nothing more than a matter of one line. “Someone come, return to the boat.” With that said, he had ‘Jin Wangfei’ picked up horizontally.

Inspector General Su was unsure of his attitude, so naturally didn’t dare to utter a single word. To return to the boat at this time was also within expectations. After all, Jin Qinwang brought along a large amount of luggage. Don’t look at how a lot were brought down, in actuality, it was just a portion, and judging from the intensity of this fire, most likely all got burned up. According to Jin Qinwang’s level of pickiness, he naturally won’t use the things other people prepare. Boarding the boat, compared with unloading the luggage, naturally was much more simple.

Inspector General Su wished to follow behind ‘Jin Qinwang’, but Yu Zhong Qing went forward, easily taking his place.

Have to say, for Yu Zhong Qing to still be able to remain calm when facing Inspector General Su, not revealing his feelings, this was also considered quite impressive. Just imagine, knowing that the matter of his entire family getting exterminated had an enormous connection with this Su old dog, even most likely the person behind the scenes, for that ready to kill storming hatred of his to be able to be completely contained right now, remaining calm and collected, where even someone like Inspector General Su was all unable to detect anything, it can be seen, once a person’s hatred reached an extraordinary level, one would perhaps enter another extremity.

  1. Wait, I don’t understand. This Su has something to do with YZQ’s family extermination? Or is it someone behind the Sus?

    1. Yeah I knew he was mad in an earlier chapter. I re-read that part several times. I couldn’t figure out why he was so angry; either we only just found out why he was so mad, or it was hinted at and I didn’t pick up on it. Like was his family part of the 20k people who were eliminated to hide the embezzling from the disaster, or did they get killed for another reason?

      1. Back in chapter 271 it was mentioned by YZQ’s foster mother that YZQ’s entire Yu family had gotten murdered mysteriously with only YZQ left alive and YZQ has been trying to find the people responsible. His Yu family was also an official family. LHY promised to help him investigate.

Back in chapter 287 part 2, LHY gave him the investigation results on Inspector General Su, 20k people incident is a completely separate matter that wasn’t even in the letters so you’re mixing those two matters up, and that was in part 1, the letter was mentioned in part 2 of the chapter. It’s pretty obviously implied that the letters specifically about Inspector General Su mentioned that Su is responsible or at least connect with the Yu family murder. That’s why LHY literally said after he calmed down, “REGARDING YOUR FAMILY’S MATTER”, pretty blatantly hinting about his family’s murder case, because it’s literally the only thing YZQ cares about enough to make him show emotions, and LHY also said he can deal with Su however he wants after the fact. I don’t know how much more obvious this can be.

        1. Oh thanks for clarifying even I thought his family was killed in the 20k incident and was coincidentally found out here. So the part 1 and 2 of letter are separate bits huh.

          1. ….there was no letter in part 1, in part 1 Li Su Yan just verbally reported his findings. And then An Yi came in with his report on Inspector General Su, because LHY had told him to specifically investigate Su in a previous chapter. These two matters were literally reported by two different people under different jobs so I have no idea why they would get mixed together.
