Boiling Oil Splashed with Water

Li Hong Yuan opened his eyes, his eyes momentarily covered in mist, but shortly after, it became clear. Just as he was about to sit up, Jing Wan went forward to support him first. No matter how good one’s body was, after lying for this many days, one would all feel uncomfortable. Even Li Hong Yuan all felt somewhat dizzy and lightheaded, and this was even with the help of Jing Wan turning him and massaging him from time to time these past few days.

Li Hong Yuan reached out to massage his temples. Jing Wan immediately extended her hand to take his place, helping him alleviate the unwell feeling.

Li Hong Yuan closed his eyes and relaxed for a moment, reaching out to grasp Jing Wan’s hand, “It’s fine now.”

Finally looking to the others at this time, he somewhat sluggishly got up, “Greetings imperial father, greetings grandmaster.”

“You’re excused. Yuan’er, you just woke up, so right now, certainly feeling unwell. Quickly sit down.” Le Cheng Emperor hurriedly said.

“Amitabha Buddha, his Majesty’s words are reasonable, wangye does not need to be too courteous.”

Li Hong Yuan was never someone to mistreat himself, so when unwell, he naturally won’t forcibly endure. Thus, he calmly sat back down.

Le Cheng Emperor clearly was somewhat silently restraining himself, his body faintly shaking uncontrollably, “Yuan’er, your consort mother………”

“Consort mother? What’s wrong with consort mother?” Li Hong Yuan took the warm water that Gong mama handed over, shallowly taking two sips, rehydrating his somewhat dry throat. His expression was somewhat dull, appearing as if a bit out of sorts.

“Grandmaster Liao Chen said that your soul leaving the body was because of your consort mother, your birth mother. Did you meet with her?” Le Cheng Emperor eagerly asked.

Li Hong Yuan paused for a moment, “There’s even such a matter? This son just felt as if one had a dream, waking up at the end of the dream. As for the contents of the dream…….” He slightly frowned, “Completely don’t remember.”

“Of the people in the world, there are those few that because of various reasons, coincidentally encounter situations of the soul leaving the body. However, as for what happened during this time, after waking up, for the most part, unable to remember. Wangye’s situation truly can’t be more normal.” Grandmaster Liao Chen said.

Li Hong Yuan’s brows furrowed even more, “Hasn’t she been dead for more than twenty years? There’s really ghosts and spirits in the world? Then, according to grandmaster’s meaning, she’s still in the mortal realm, having yet to reincarnate into a new life? Is it having been bounded, or is it that she’s unwilling to reincarnate? Regardless of the reason, why don’t grandmaster carry out a ritual to let her soul pass on, letting her go reincarnate sooner.” Towards the end, his face returned to being expressionless again.

“No!” Le Cheng Emperor immediately grew stern. The person he has longed for and missed for more than twenty years, how can she just pass on like this?

Li Hong Yuan looked towards Le Cheng Emperor, “Towards the deceased, all emphasize on ‘entering the soil to rest’, the purpose perhaps just letting the deceased reincarnate sooner. For her to be in the mortal realm for more than twenty years, isn’t it just as a wandering spirit. Isn’t it normally said that the ghosts and spirits in the world either still have strong attachment, or overflowing grievance, or have been maliciously bounded to the world by someone. Imperial father not allowing a ritual for her to help her soul pass on, what is the reasoning?”

That expression was just short of directly pointing at Le Cheng Emperor’s nose and saying, ‘is it you that had her trapped here’.

“Imperial father, this son knows that you have deep feelings towards the Imperial Noble Consort, but the deceased has already passed. Just reminiscing in one’s heart is fine, but as one would ask, when a person is able to see everything they are fond of, yet unable to touch, and the people they love don’t know of their existence, one day, two days, one year, two years, ten years, twenty years, that kind of feeling afraid won’t be good. That’s why, if imperial father truly cherishes her, should just let her reincarnate sooner.”

Le Cheng Emperor’s lips slightly trembled, the struggles revealing on his face, yet gradually, the negative emotions occupied the upper hand, his eyes gradually overflowing with vicious currents, “Absolutely not possible, in this lifetime she’s this emperor’s; in the next life, she will inevitably also be this emperor’s! In any case, it has already been twenty years, so what difference does a bit more make?” Unknown as to what he thought of, his expression softened again, “Yuan’er, your consort mother insisting on not leaving, that is waiting for imperial father, promising to be husband and wife again in the next life, so how can imperial father betray her good intentions, don’t you think so? ———-Grandmaster, the things you said, this emperor will go handle. The specific requirements, this emperor will send someone from the Ministry of Works to see you. ————–Now that you’re awake, this emperor feels relieved. Properly rest, this emperor will return to the palace first.” Le Cheng Emperor turned around and directly left.

To deceive oneself to this degree really was something! You tore apart her and her childhood sweetheart fiancee, forcibly having her turned from a noble daughter to a nameless orphan girl, and after obtaining, didn’t necessarily cherish her either, even misunderstanding her and killing her, letting her son become a child ghost, and even if feeling guilty towards him, wanting to compensate him, still deprived him of the right to inherit the throne. With these various matters, how big is your face, for you to believe that after her death, her staying in the mortal realm is because of waiting for you? And to even ‘continue on the former fate’?

The more Le Cheng Emperor was like this, the more disgusted Jing Wan felt towards him. If she was the Imperial Noble Consort, afraid, would’ve further wanted to turn into a malevolent spirit.

Li Hong Yuan was rather indifferent towards what he was thinking. It was enough to be able to accomplish his goal. However, judging from Le Cheng Emperor’s attitude, if it continues on like this, never mind the people wholeheartedly praying for her, nine times out of ten, it will even result in the Imperial Noble Consort bearing the scorned name of a country-ruining demoness this many years after her death. These naturally were just the follow-up arrangements that Li Hong Yuan needed to carry out.

To the side, the three wangyes that had remained silent the entire time, at this time, also expressed their farewells.

Le Cheng Emperor stirring up a storm for the sake of someone that has died for more than twenty years, they knew that they were unable to stop. Then, naturally it was just thinking of how to obtain benefits from within. Imperial father has become muddled, not considering for the people, so they will; imperial father willfully clings to his own way, bringing down the imperial family’s prestige, so they will come fix; imperial father indulging old six in messing around, it’s also time to properly urge.

They respectively went back. Entering the palace now to look for their own mother was useless, so naturally it was just turning to their aides and the officials that serve them.

Kang Qinwang returned to his manor, first violently venting his anger. ——–What was ‘to become husband and wife again in the next life’? His wife in this lifetime had the surname Sun. Even if having that woman conferred as the Imperial Noble Consort, that was still just a concubine!

That’s why, the point Kang Qinwang focused on really was unusual.

And after Li Hong Yuan learned that he’d slept for five days, seeing Jing Wan’s haggard appearance, he felt unbearably heartbroken, expressionlessly letting Gong Jiu go receive a hundred whips, and afterwards, not allowed to use medicine.

Jing Wan lightly frowned, but in the end, didn’t stop him either.

Grandmaster Liao Chen said a prayer, carrying an undetectable sigh.

Jing Wan let the back kitchen quickly prepare some light food. Even if the biological functions were reduced, after five days, one would certainly still be hungry.

Jin Qinwang Manor, after Jin Qinwang woke up, seemingly returned to the past, yet the ins and outs of the court were instead like boiling oil splashed with water.

  1. Why would he punish Gong Jiu and not even take medicine? He was just following orders. Why didn’t Jing Wan stop it? Here she is judging the Emperor as scum but acting like a scum herself. Truly power corrupts absolutely.

    1. The problem was that Gong Jiu’s medicine was flawed. They trusted him with making the medicine for their plan, but Gong Jiu’s mistake could’ve easily killed LHY.

    2. Cause the med have flawed aka this could led to actual serious problem and no long just a scheme.

    3. Dude. Did you not read anything that’s written in the past few chapters? She was told, by LHY HIMSELF, that the medicine was safe and he could be woken at any time. Your partner gets prescribed medicine that’s supposed to be safe, are you going to stamp your feet and say ‘No! You can’t take it! What if you die!’? Do you not let any member of your family take any form of medication?

  2. “Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the former.” – Albert Einstein
However I also can’t understand what’s the benefit af all of this for our lead, maybe an even more muddled emperor, easier to influence ? Thank you for the update !

    1. They need the emperor to carry out the project for building the altars and getting people to pray for the Imperial Noble Consort because if they do it themselves there’s too much risk. It needs to be a public project because something of that scale can’t be done in secret.

As for the altars, LHY is trying to preserve his mother’s soul, or she might cease to exist. According to the grandmaster it’s the only way to save his mother.
