He’s Able to Shield Her Completely

Luo Old Madam rather laughed in anger, “Never thought that such a thing as yourself would come from the Luo family. I originally thought, you were probably young and ignorant, getting deceived, but from the looks of it now, you seem rather willing. Since you don’t want to say, then forget it. Go back and pack up, tomorrow you’ll be sent back to Qi’an Fu.” In reality, even if Luo Jing Ying didn’t say, Luo Old Madam more or less had an understanding inside. For better or worse, she was still a young miss of a Head Minister Manor, ordinary men really wouldn’t dare touch her. And those that dared, even using such a despicable and shameless method, were only those countable few. In addition to that phoenix tail hairpin, after carefully ruling out again, the results were clear. Moreover, deliberately giving Luo Jing Ying this phoenix tail hairpin, such an obvious implication[1], this was already firmly making his attitude clear. For Luo Old Madam to not hate, that was false, and it was only this moron that would still fixedly throw herself forward.

In Luo Jing Ying’s mind, even if the matter got out, she would probably just be locked up in the little buddha hall again. Otherwise, at most it was just having her sent to the outer estate. Even so, she still believed, she sooner or later will enter Rui Qinwang Manor, so she just needed to endure until Rui Qinwang came to get her. But once she leaves the capital, no matter how stupid she was, no matter how naive, she still understood, the man she liked, her life of glory and wealth, her dream of having everyone all stomped under her foot, will all turn into bubbles. “No, I don’t want to leave the capital, I don’t want———-”

Facing a lunatic-like Luo Jing Ying, Luo old Madam remained unmoved, “That’s also doable…………..”

The expression on Luo Jing Ying’s face eased a little, hopefully looking to Luo Old Madam.

“………….Directly expel yourself from the clan, afterwards, you can do whatever you want.”

Luo Jing Ying widened her eyes in disbelief, her pupils shrinking.

For a girl to be expelled from the clan, even one’s surname will all be erased, becoming that rootless duckweed, no longer having any support. From a certain point of view, that was being less than those lower-class[2] girls, because anyone can all step on you, anyone can all bully and humiliate you, and dying by violence in the streets was all just a death in vain.

From this bit, one can well imagine, in the world of Li Hong Yuan’s past life, for the sake of not implicating the Luo family, Jing Wan deliberately tarnishing her own reputation to expel herself from the Luo clan, drawing a clear line with the Luo family, just how much determination and courage was required. One misstep, and one will be consigned to eternal damnation.

Luo Jing Ying was still unmarried, so aside from the Luo family, she didn’t have any other place to call home. Even if she firmly believed that she was Rui Qinwang’s true love, and by getting abandoned by the Luo family, she would still have Rui Qinwang, then did it mean that she had the courage to accept this kind of fate? Definitely no. Without one’s maiden family as support, even if she enters the Rui Qinwang Manor, she would still just reside in the lowest rung.

Have to say, was Luo Jing Ying really stupid to the point where she wasn’t aware of anything, to the point where she believed that no matter what the circumstances were Rui Qinwang would all pamper her and protect her, treating her like a treasure in the palm? She was very clear, she wasn’t that important, just she didn’t want to admit it, that’s all.

“Of course, you still have a third option, and that is to die suddenly.” Luo Old Madam said extremely nonchalantly.

Luo Jing Ying’s lips trembled, yet was unable to utter a single word. From her earlier violent bout of madness only fear and terror remained. Even if she’d gotten locked up for that long last time, she still didn’t experience this deeply this feeling of fear brought about by Luo Old Madam at this very moment. Her entire person was trembling, simply not knowing how to respond.

Liu-shi was also frightened to the point of nearly losing her soul, promptly kneeling down, “Mother, Ying’er is just young and insensible. She was just momentarily muddled, getting bewildered by those materialistic things, getting deceived by flowery words. I beg of you, please forgive her this time. This daughter-in-law will definitely educate her properly when we go back, definitely won’t let her make a mistake again. Mother, please forgive her this time, please forgive her this time………….” She violently kowtowed, and very soon, blood seeped out from her head.

Luo Jing Ying seemingly also came to her senses, straightening her kneeling posture, and began tearfully kowtowing and begging for forgiveness.

Luo Old Madam coldly watched, casting a glance to the ‘complexion fluctuating indefinitely’ Luo Rong Ping who was standing behind the mother-daughter pair. To say this family was a nest of rats and snakes really wasn’t wrong in the least.

Just when Luo Old Madam was about to speak again, Luo Pei Shan came over from the front study. Seeing the situation in the room, he seemingly wasn’t surprised in the slightest, just sitting down next to Luo Old Madam. “Madam, don’t damage your health in anger for these ingrates.”

Luo Old Madam glanced at Luo Pei Shan. Speaking of which, for Luo Rong Ping to have turned out like this today, Luo Pei Shan was also to blame. She, who wasn’t the real mother, didn’t care for him, but Luo Pei Shan, this actual father, didn’t care for him much either. Of course, during those years, he was all very busy. Never mind this one shu son, even the other three di sons, he didn’t have much time to look after either. Even so, letting her come clean up this mess now, towards Luo Pei Shan, she still was somewhat annoyed. However, they’ve already gone through this many years togethers, so it wasn’t possible for her to fight with him now; there was no point. “My lord knows already?”

Luo Pei Shan nodded. He didn’t just know, he was practically completely clear of the situation, including this third son of his once wanting to cast himself under Rui Qinwang but not having the connections, and by coincidence, becoming extremely close to someone of Kang Qinwang’s faction. Yet in the end, after tirelessly busying himself, he still just wandered in the outer circles. And not long ago, because of a lamp, rushed towards Rui Qinwang. But before that was settled, his own family was forced to Kang Qinwang’s faction. Great, this rather gave him a push, letting Rui Qinwang cling onto him, unwilling to let go. And he, after weighing the options, chose to completely depart from the Luo family, and this daughter of his was further great, directly offering herself to let the other person sleep with.

Luo Pei Shan right now was double angry. This bastard son and granddaughter was one matter, the other being the person that delivered him the information, and aside from that living Enma, there wasn’t a second candidate. His own family’s matter getting known by an outsider that was peeping at his precious granddaughter, how can one not get angry. But what was further infuriating was that according to that one’s meaning, he as the head of this family didn’t need to take care of it. Handling it just like this was truly too convenient.

“Take her back, and keep her confined. If anymore trouble arises, Liu-shi, you can just directly take the letter of divorce and return to your maiden home.” He then looked to Luo Rong Ping, “You also don’t need to be a court official anymore, directly return to Qi’an Fu. Otherwise, just have this branch of yours separated out. That way, this old man doesn’t need to provide for you anymore, and from hereon out, just don’t set foot through these gates anymore.”

Getting separated out when one’s parents were still alive, and moreover, not all the brothers dividing together, but rather, just this branch of his, what difference was that from getting swept out the gates? The Luo family’s family principles were displayed there, so it definitely must have been he, this son, that was in the wrong. His official post will one hundred percent be seized, and moreover, without the Luo family, or more precisely, without Luo Pei Shan, what worth did he still have? Never mind climbing onto Rui Qinwang, perhaps he’ll just be crushed to death by him.

Luo Rong Ping didn’t dare utter a single word, dragging one in each hand, probably using all his strength in this lifetime to have his wife and daughter taken away.

The rest, Luo Old Madam didn’t ask anymore. “Have the five of them all sent to the estate. ——–Mama isn’t that young anymore, so the four of you best do your best to have her served well. Any little mishap, and you all will all shed a layer of skin.”

Luo Jing Ying’s caretaker mama directly froze into a lump, she was done for, completely done for!

The four servant girls responded, trembling in fear, not daring to resist in the slightest, yet inside, they hated Luo Jing Ying and this caretaker mama to death. Luo Jing Ying, they couldn’t do anything to her, but this evil hag, on normal days, already pressed on top their heads, frequently cursing them. This time the old madam has ordered to properly ‘serve’ her. If they don’t ‘serve her well’, it would truly be difficult to dispel the resentment inside.

Once they were taken out, the other servants were also sent out. In the room, only the old couple remained, as well as the scattered valuable head ornaments on the floor.

Luo Old Madam puzzlingly looked to Luo Pei Shan, “My lord, what is the meaning of this?”

Luo Pei Shan helplessly sighed, “Someone doesn’t wish for them to be well.”

Luo Old Madam’s expression became even more perplexed. What did this mean? And who was this ‘someone’? To not strictly handle such a big matter, instead easily letting it go, this was called not letting to be well?

“Madam, for people, only when one thinks that one has won, believing oneself to be standing at the summit, and then shattering that hope, falling into the dust, will one know pain, hopelessly struggling on one’s deathbed, living worse than death.”

Luo Old Madam’s heart jumped, who has such a big grudge against the Luo family’s third branch, wanting to go this far? Even for her, she may admittedly be angry and infuriated, but at most would just have the people sent far far away. “Who?”

Luo Pei Shan glanced at Luo Old Madam, and both helplessly and powerlessly sighed.

Luo Old Madam had never seen Luo Pei Shan like this before. In the past, regardless how big of a storm he encountered, he would all be able to calmly face.

“My lord, why don’t you just directly tell this wife.” She actually was very curious of this person behind the scenes.

“Jin Qinwang.” Luo Pei Shan originally didn’t want to tell Luo Old Madam, but third girl’s marriage arrangements will spoil again sooner or later. After pondering it over, it was still better to tell her everything, letting her be mentally prepared, so as to avoid her getting anxious again when time comes.

“Jin Qinwang?” Have to say, Luo Old Madam was exceptionally surprised. She simply didn’t even think of him. He was practically an unlikely candidate, but, “Old three offended him?” According to Jin Qinwang that living Enma’s personality, who was certain to get revenge for even the tiniest grudge, if one really did offend him, it really was possible for him to make one live worse than death. However, thinking again, such a roundabout method really wasn’t like Jin Qinwang’s usual style.

“Not really, however, it’s more severe than directly offending him. Old three’s whole family has made the person at the tip of his heart very annoyed.”

Luo Old Madam raised her eyebrow, “My lord, just have everything said at once.”

Luo Pei Shan leaned in closer, lowering his voice, “The one at the tip of Jin Qinwang’s heart is our third girl. ——-Don’t get worked up, don’t get worked up, finish hearing what I have to say……………” Shortly after, Luo Pei Shan had the matters regarding Jin Qinwang, as well as the things he’s done for Jing Wan all narrated, “Things are just like this.”

Luo Old Madam had a face full of shock, “My lord, first let me process it all.” This news was truly too shocking. However, this time, Luo Old Madam’s tolerance was surprisingly strong, only deeply gasping two breaths, and didn’t fall ill. She quietly sat there for about a cup of tea’s time, “My lord, are you telling the truth?”

“Jin Qinwang said it with his own mouth. For that person, it’s probably not worth lying.”

Luo Old Madam fell silent once more, “If he’s able to go that far for Wan Wan, having Wan Wan marry him isn’t necessarily undoable either.”

“You actually would agree this easily?” Luo Pei Shan was surprised.

“No matter who Wan Wan marries, her future will all be uncertain. But, at present, Jin Qinwang is able to shield Wan Wan completely. This is something others all won’t be able to accomplish. Just based on this bit, he’s stronger than any of them.”

This reason was so formidable that Luo Pei Shan had no way of refuting.

[1] The implication with the phoenix tail hairpin is that only women of the imperial family were allowed to wear phoenix style head ornaments, and in certain historical dynasties, only the Empress was allowed to wear a phoenix crown. Another random fact is that since the establishment of the Tang dynasty, only the Emperor was allowed to wear yellow, and maybe his relatives to a lesser degree, and it’s a crime punishable by death for anyone other than the imperial family to wear yellow.

[2] This is referring to prostitutes, and I think female entertainers are in this class as well. This is actually a class lower than the slave/servant class of people.

  1. Hahahaha xD I just knew Luo Old Madam would favor Jin Qinwang. During her visit to the Empress’ Palace, his attitude was shown, thus after Luo Pei Shan told her everything, it will all be clear for her.

  2. On one hand, I’m looking forward to the hell that’s about to be unleashed on the third branch. On the other hand, I wish they were done with now instead of later because I’m so impatient.

But like Mother Gothel once said, “Good things come to those that wait.”

    So imma wait.

    Thanks for the chapter! 😘

  3. Finally! That hussy and her parents are getting what’s coming for them.πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½ I also liked how quickly Grandma Luo approved of Jing Qinwang and her reason for doing so.😊
